Otsikko: spam blocking question...
Kirjoitti: tony732 - heinäkuu 09, 2006, 02:26:41 AP
I was considering opening up my message board to the general public, but have some concerns about spam. I know that operating a non restrictive board can be an open invitation to spammers. Is there any methods or software available that will block spam on message boards, or would i be better off requiring people to register before they can post? Thanks in advance for your help.

try using a captcha mod for posting.
or require registration.

Here is the mod: http://mods.simplemachines.org/?action=search;basic_search=captcha

But according to the forums, in release 1.1RC3 there will be an own captcha system. This is the reason why I want to know when RC3 will be released...

Thanks for the advice.  I installed the captcha mod like angryuser suggested, so we'll see what happens.
