Would it be possible to allow a checkbox next to each attachment that says "Display type: Image: (radio) Link: (radio)"
If the admin has picture attachments allowed?
The reason i ask is because sometimes i want to attach large images to the post, such as desktops or screenshots which at 1600x1200 can be quite large for dialup users, but i would like to have say a 640x480 version visible. Obviously several different sizes of the same image dont need to be displayed.
I'd be more inclined to add a checkbox to say "[ ] Don't display a preview of this." Another option would be thumbnails - they could be generated and cached for speed too ;).
But imho this is a mod.

my idea is to make it either just load the whole image with width and height adjusted to the mod's setting or create a thumb file and save it locally... both would open the full-size image in a new browser window
Is there a function where the attached photos will have resized thumbnails with GD?
