The link sent to my admin panel, for blackdollone.com, does not work. Could you please resend it or fix it. Thanks. Ltbrown-admin

be more specific...   what error message do you get with the link?
that link is created here and pulled by every admin page on every smf site.

Uaaahhh! Luv ya baby(es)!!!
It took about 3 secs (same problem with the whong and uncompartible files, but I've just waited several hours and tried again) and ran unnoted by the users.
All my midle-scale, non-english, custo-skinned and quite a modd-ed (some hadcode modding as well) forum does not show any failures, settings changes or errors!

Trying to do the same with the Invision (that forum used to run before) used to cost me about 20 days of pain, trouble and unpredictable result.

Thank you!!!!

Upgraded without any problems! :D  My forum is working smoothly!

Well, it buggered up the custom themes on our forum.  The directories on all 4 had been .../Themes/(zip filename minus the .zip) and after the update it was changed to .../Themes/(the name out of the theme's XML file)  so none of the files or images tracked.  The forum looked particularly nasty without the CSS... :(

The Admin had to replace all customized themes or hand-edit the paths in Admin > Themes and Settings.  We went from 1.1.2 patched to 1.1.3 to the latest 1.1.4 patch level.

Well, if you purposefully break the way the system works, and the system tried to fix it to be correct, can you blame us?
All themes should be installed in a theme directory as indicated in the theme's XML file. If you want to change that directory, then change the XML file as well.

I tried to update but all I got was a blank page.

Hey, if the previous version installed the themes under the ZIP filename directory and then the LATEST update changed the theme directories on it's own, I fail to see how we're at fault.  The 1.1.3 version should have installed per the XML and it did NOT.  We did the installations through the THEMES function in the Admin panel, not via the cPanel.  WE did not break it, the system didn't follow it's own rules (if you're correct).

The Simple Machines website is so incredibly slow right now... I tried searching, but didn't find anything.

Is there a detailed changelog for SMF 1.1.4 which tells us exactly which files were changed and, hopefully, which lines within those respective files were updated?

I've made too many changes to my SMF forum for a blanket copy over.  That would screw up everything. It is not an option for me.

I had hoped that I would be able to tell by looking at the "modified date" on the files to see which ones were recently changed (I can do this with Wordpress).  Unfortunately, all of them are timestamped at roughly the same time!

So, which files were changed?

All you need to download is download the patch on the first post and extract the files. You will find the 1.1.3 to 1.1.4 patch. Open that file and you will see a list of the search and replace lines that need to be done.

Package does not show up in my package manager. Only
    * Gaming Avatars 1.0
    * Personal Icons 2.0 2.0
    * IMDB Infograbber 1.0

Is this an error in my forum? Does it mean I must manually download and install? Or is it a transient problem... that I should try again in a couple hours?

青山 素子

There should be a box marked "Update Available" in the main admin page right under the main admin center box. In addition, there should be a link to install the update in the package manager "Browse Packages" page.

I have read in this thread where the Developers are looking at the package as some things may be messed up and/or missing from the package.  If this is still true, should I wait a few more days to install this update?

On Admin Center main page, I see only the admin center box at top, then the "live from simple machines box" which shows:

SMF 1.1.4 on September 24, 2007, 09:07:36 PM
A patch has been released to address some security vulnerabilities discovered in SMF 1.1.3. We urge all forum administrators to upgrade to SMF 1.1.4—simply visit the package manager to install the patch.

The only link is to this here forum topic. To the right of that box is:

Support Information
Version Information:
Forum version: SMF 1.1 RC3
Current SMF version: SMF 1.1.4 (no link)
(more detailed) < --- when I click that link, I get a temp file opening in my text editor! That happens sometimes, but I've never been able to figure out why. I use Firefox.

Forum Administrators: xxx

Under those is the box full of admin links "support and credits" "features and options" etc.

The Browse Patches box shows only:

   Mod Name     Version
1.    SMF 1.0.7 / 1.1 RC2 Update    1.0    [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
2.    SMF 1.1 RC2 Security Patch - 2    1.1 RC2    [ List Files ] [ Delete ]

My footer indicates I am "Powered by SMF 1.1 RC3"

So, shall I go do this manually or is something screwy on my installation and I should go post in the support forum?

Thanks for the help

No, please go ahead installing the update. The most important differences in the download package have been fixed and the others will be dealt with in the next release, but aren't important enough to warrant a fix at the moment (it would also create too many different versions which wouldn't be desirable at the moment).

Thank you.  Done, and it was a breeze...even for my modified board.  Good job.

If you are on RC3, you will need to do a manual upgrade (there was no package for RC3 to 1.1 final that I recall). This will require you re-install any mods you have.

I know it is probably painful, but you really should get updated. There have been many security and bug fixes since that version, some of them very important.
