ok....I am having some issues with the upgrade.  the upgrade seems to go through via package manager.

here is what i got

View and Remove Installed Packages
   Mod Name    Version
1.    SMF 1.0.12 / 1.1.4 / 2.0 b1.1 Update    1.0    [ Uninstall ]

So it seems like it was upgraded.  i got the message.

The package was installed successfully. You should now be able to use whatever functionality it adds or changes; or not be able to use functionality it removes.

now the problem is everytime i go the administration center and the check files it doesnt show up. I dont think its installing correctly.  any help would be great.

admin center

"You're using an outdated version of SMF, which contains some bugs which have since been fixed. It is recommended that you update your forum to the latest version as soon as possible. It only takes a minute!"

check files
SMF File   Your Version   Current Version
SMF Package   SMF 1.1.3   SMF 1.1.4
Sources   1.1.2   1.1.4
Admin.php   1.1   1.1
BoardIndex.php   1.1   1.1
Calendar.php   1.1   1.1
Display.php   1.1.2   1.1.4

ok...that was pretty odd

ok..now here are the error logs.

2: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource
File: /var/www/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 1908

2: fopen(/var/www/Sources/Subs.php) [<a href='function.fopen'>function.fopen</a>]: failed to open stream: Permission denied
File: /var/www/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 1901

anyhelp?  thanks

The two errors are related...

The "fopen" error means SMF couldn't write to the file (there are different flags that can be used with fopen depending on what you want to do with it).

The "fclose" error is related to the other one - because the file wasn't open successfully, SMF can't exactly close it.

Your best bet is to uninstall the patch (ignore any "modification failed" errors), make sure that all the files the mod changes are chmodded to 777 (or 755 if your host doesn't support 777), then try again.

You should have gotten a screen asking for FTP details, but it appears SMF thought the files were writable before it tried to write to them.

I'm getting the same error. What can I do to continue with the uninstall?
