Hi,

I updated my forums from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 and i had no problem.

But when i tried to update  from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4 i saw this:

I have no mods installed, so... what can i do?

It's probably due to the issue with PHP 5.2 and larger modification files (I've seen this happen before - for some reason PHP 5.2 causes SMF to choke on larger modification files).

Your best option would be to just install it manually.

Download the patch from the 1.1.4 topic in the News and Updates board, extract smf_1-1-3_to_1-1-4_patch.mod and smf_1-1-4_can_fail.xml and follow the instructions in those two files to update your board.

Ok, I finally updated my SMF version to 1.1.4

I entered on Admin -> Packages -> options and made "All files are writable" in "Cleanup Permissions".

Then, I installed 1.1.4 update perfectly.

Finally, I made "Only the standard files are writable" again in Packages options.

Thx a lot.

Thanks Valerius. I had the same issue -- and in fact have with other upgrade patches. The first time it happened it took me forever to figure it out and no one on the forum was able to advise.

When the upgrade fails due to insufficient permissions, it'd be *great* if it would return that as the error. (The error I got this time around was a parse error, but opening up the permissions completely corrected it.)
