Not sure if this is allowed, but I'm guessing it should be ok.

I really like the felblog mod, but over on the feline-networks the support seems to be a little lacking. This is understandable given that it appears to be a one-(wo)man-show. I'd like to start a new thread here on SMF so that the members who use it can offer support to each other. I'm not sure exactly where such a thread should go, but this looked like the best place.

Ok, so are there any other members using the felblog?

I have a few complaints about this mod (but these are already being looked at by someone else):

Any feedback from people who have used either of these?
I just started testing out the blogs from the link above. I like it, even though there are a few things I would personally like to have in a different way. My biggest complaint is that from what I can tell the blogs are not linked to a user's profile. I think it would be much better to have the blogs listed in the profile - a simple link would do the trick. Unless there is something that I am missing, it seems as though the only way to access someone's blog is to go to the blogs tab and then go through the list of blogs. :(

EDIT: Another complaint is that I can't seem to figure out how to give the forum moderator's permission to lock/delete blogs! That means that only the admin can do this, which might be too much for one person to handle on a large forum. :(

EDIT #2 At the bottom of my forum in the 'info center" the 5 most recent blog posts are displayed. There doesn't seem to be a way to edit this in the admin panel. :(

Haha, overall, I still like what I have seen so far though. ;)

Another problem I have been having is that my captchas no longer work. This means that the only way new users can register is if I disable the visual verification which would open my forum up to spambots and all those nasty things. A possible fix has been posted here, but at the time of this post, I hadn't as yet tried it. I'll take a look at it shortly and edit this post accordingly.

My final problem is my forum error log has been filling up with errors! Here are some of the common ones:

English:
1) Undefined index: sbox_ModTitle
File: /home/daxueyin/public_html/finalforumtest/Sources/ModSettings.php
Line: 145
2) Unable to load the 'sbox.english' language file.

Chinese:
1) 8: Undefined index: Felblog_recent
文件: /home/daxueyin/public_html/finalforumtest/Themes/default/BoardIndex.template.php (main sub template - eval?)
行: 317

Well, forget about the errors when I use Chinese, because I have not translated anything as yet, and I suspect all the errors are related to that. ::)

Ok, that's all I've got for the moment about felblog. Hopefully other members who are using this blog system will see this thread and post here.

Thanks in advance for your support! :)

Yeah, I really think members need some sort of link/s from their profile. ;)

dxyy

By the way, is anyone else using felblog having problems with the captcha (visual verification) when new members attempt to register?

On my test forum, the captchas are not displayed, and I can't figure out how to fix the problem. :(

Instead of leeching onto somebody elses topic unrelated to your issue. Try a forum search first, I know this support question has been asked many times and many solutions have been found. If all that fails, make a new support topic with good information and about what you already tried.

All three thinks are planned for next release ...

The sms capcha works perfect with new felblog releases.

That is no error from felblog ...

I think, you have not a correct translated text file ...

Thanks for the reply, Fel. :)

Yeah, I haven't quite translated anything as yet, so I won't ask about the language errors again since those are all probably my fault. ::)

As for the captchas, I'll try it again as it may have been a problem on my part again due to the text editor I was using.

I really hope the next release will be soon. Is there anything I can do to help expedite the process? I'd really like to add this to my live forum soon! :)

Hoochie Coochie Man

I uninstalled the fel blog, Buy I have felblod tables in my forum database, How I'm gonna delete them? if I delete this eight table, is my database got any problem?

felblog tables in forum database

You shouldn't have any problems, but back up your database first before you make any changes. If you've already uninstalled the mod and it did so cleanly, there shouldn't be any existing calls to those tables.
Do NOT PM me for support.

Does anyone know how I can link the felblogs to member profiles?

So for example if you go to a member's profile there will be a link that says "Username's blog" and you can just use that rather than only the 'blog' tab?

Thanks! :)

After installing the modification for the SMF Gallery Video add on, the FelBlog add on and the SMF Gallery permissions and functions discontinued to work, and were unable to use those addons.

After uninstalling the Video Add On everything returned to normal working order

feline

Whats is that? Have you a mod link?
So i can look whats wrong ...

Fel

We took a couple of the mods off to see if that was the problem, but will put them back on so you can see.  Thank you!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the help you gave me today.  I LOVE the blog system.

dxyy

A few boards on my forum are only accessible to logged in members. In these areas I have been seeing the following errors in my log:

2: in_array() [<a href='function.in-array'>function.in-array</a>]: Wrong datatype for second argument
File: /home/daxueyin/public_html/forum/Sources/FelBlog.php
Line: 1612

AND

8: Undefined index: FelBlog
File: /home/daxueyin/public_html/forum/Sources/FelBlog.php
Line: 1607

Two examples of areas in my forum where this error can be expected are:
http://www.daxueyingyu.com/forum/index.php?topic=1610.0
AND
http://www.daxueyingyu.com/forum/index.php?topic=388.0

For your convenience, here are lines 1607 and 1612 of felblog.php:
1607 - $groups = $context['FelBlog']['blog_rd_acs'];
1612 - $access = (in_array($g, $groups) ? true : $access);

Thanks for any help anyone can offer me with this. :)
