TechHead is a theme I made recently and want to share it with you. It has more of a "tech" feel to it than anything. Hovering over the main buttons gives an light/dark effect on the texts.

Added:
- 2 PSD files for making of the top buttons (home, help, search etc.). They use a font called Alien Encounters and should work in Photoshop 7+ at least. You will need a "normal" image/button , and a "over" state button. So save your file from the first like xxxx.gif, and from the second PSD like xxxx_over.gif. Chop off on the width when the text is ready..I have made them 150px wide, which should cover a lot. The files are attached to this post.

The code in index.template.php would also need to be copied of course.

- For the other regular buttons, there is a button-generator at:
http://www.tinyportal.net/button-generator/techhead.php

Download:
- for SMF 1.1RC2:
http://www.tinyportal.net/files/download.php?file=techhead11rc2.zip

- for SMF 1.1RC1:
http://www.tinyportal.net/files/download.php?file=techhead11rc1.zip

- for SMF 1.1beta3:
http://www.tinyportal.net/files/download.php?file=techhead11.tar.gz
http://www.tinyportal.net/files/download.php?file=techhead11.zip

- for SMF 1.0.5:
http://www.tinyportal.net/files/download.php?file=techhead.tar.gz
http://www.tinyportal.net/files/download.php?file=techhead.zip

The graphics is free to use within the context of a SMF forum.

(down right now due to error with mysql)

It was not loading a while ago, but now it seems as if the Settings.php file has become corrupt.  You may wish to check Settings_bak.php.

Thanks for the help, [Unknown]!

I was scratching my head over this, since the database was good again, but still got errors. When checking the settings.php file, it was indeed 0 bytes....

I love this one also, although I am unable to use it on our site because of the menu.  I guess you wouldn't consider offering the PSDs of a Blank Button?  I know you don't share the PSD files, but on out site we have coppermine, working on a chat, and will be adding another section for Tournaments.  So, I need to make additions to the main menu. This as well as Juno have awesome buttons, that I can not reproduce to where they match.

Otherwise, I love your entire collection! :)

I have tinkered with a button-generator for some time....I will make some effort to make it usable. With all my theme buttonsets in there so that people can make their own buttons.

But you say can't use because of the menu? Is it the lack of custom buttons..? Or do you need the whole bar ( in some of the themes) elsewhere..?

Well as I mentioned before in some of your themes, the bar is too short, but I can work around that. So, yes it the lack of customized buttons.   For example in this theme I need to add a Gallery button on the   menu. I would like it to Match your buttons with the rollover.  So I would need to create both buttons and the background of the button is too complex to the erase and remake the image like I did in the Helios themes. Same with the Menu on Juno.

There is just no way to edit a current button to customize it.  Even with the PSD's for a blank button your theme is SO complex it will take some work to match the "font" use created.  I have looked into using the menu bar on some other pages, although I have set up our forum with multiple themes to make everyone happy with the looks, so it would be next to impossible to use them on other pages.  So, no basically is just the lacking of adding buttons on the forums for Chat, Gallery, Tournaments and other things as needed.  I can't imagine the work that would have to go into a generator for all your themes.  This would be nice, but I think a lot to ask.  A simple release of a Blank Wide Button for each theme would solve all my problems.  I could then recreate the "font" on it, trim to size and then add it to the menu.

Hi !

Great Theme (IMHO the best i've ever seen), but i got some problems...

The Links for collapsing/expanding are like ==> hxxp:xxxxx.com/index.php#3 [nonactive]
but should be like that ==> hxxp:xxx.com/index.php?action=collapse;c=3;sa=expand#3 [nonactive]

Any ideas ? My fault ?

Thx in advance

I see. I can put up a blank button, no problem. But with a generator I am thinking more long-term. Different languages, language strings that are wrong  ::), custom buttons with icons etc. The idea isn't new, I just havent had the time yet.

With this theme you can easily stretch a button to fit your preferred width, keeping the height intact though - since the graphic has no sideborders. Put in the font ( its a font called Alien Encounters ) and use some stroke on it - white 2px outside.... For the initial button fade the *stroke effect only* to about 60%).

For mouseover-button name it yourname2 and copy the script part. (Remember to change id=yourname and name=yourname) .
