This mod allows you to limit the number of posts per day a member can make. The number of posts is calculated 24 hours from the current time. It adds a "Posts Per Day Limit" field in the profile account settings.

Hi!

One question, this can be set by usergroup? This should be great to "punish" spammers :P

SMF 7 is where it gets good. That has time travel. You can go back and post before the guy who flamed you. :P

rsw686

No it is only definable by member. I don't have plans to include this feature either. I had built this mod to deal with a select few members on my forum and decided it would be nice to share with the community.

For those members who get out of hand at certain times of the evening (after a few to many perhaps!) is it possible to add an option so that you can limit the number of posts between certain (forum) times {not local user times as they would be able to bypass it by changing their timezone}?

Also for those forums that haven't moved for 1.1.4/1.1.5 yet - a version possibly? please?

works on 1.1.5?

Nope it does not. However I thought I saw a mod for 1.1.x that does basically the same thing.

Yes, it's true. But not suporting 1.1.5
I've upgraded from 1.1.3 to 1.1.5 and now have lost this feature :'(

rsw686

Not much was changed between 1.1.3 and 1.1.5. It doesn't install? If so look at the parse error as it probably just requires a small tweak.

Again it is not available for 1.1.5. The limiting setting is in each user's profile under account settings.

how exactly is calculate the 24H interval?

can it be done to take regular day settings (from 0h00 to 23h59)?

can the user see in personal profile his posting limits, if any?

When you click the post or reply button it looks back 24hrs from the current time and counts the number of posts made.

the "limited" user is able to see how many posts remaining he has?

tarantula14

Is it possible to limit post for all members at the same time?
To put some value by default, and to change later, if it`s necessarily.

vkot

I have done this too, before I saw that a mod already existed...

But how about limiting new topics per day?
I have built a code for this but it uses subqueries, which is something that SMF doesn't like (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=240523)
Can you think of a sql query for this purpose, without using subquery?
