Does nobody else get this error when they click on the warn image to see what the member was warned about?

I get the same result as you, but I'm not sure if it suppose to link to the topic or just give you visual record of the post.

Now for Eleglin I would add option install setting for French and Spanish language files so it doesn't return error message when they are not found.

I wouldn't care either way, but its basically a bunch of code like its supposed to say something but its in HTML.

To me it would appear that it needs to be the URL to the post that the user was warned, banned, muted for.

The forums are not hosted by me, but, I asked the hoster to give me the files I needed, although I am very experienced with Java, I just wanted to know if someone could help me out by editing the files needed?
The hoster himself can do it, but, he's busy with scripts etc. and he just finished his 'Slideshow script' so if someone could please help me out I would be ever so greatful, I desperately need this for my forums  :'(

If you require a more direct hands on approach and don't have the time or skills to do it yourself, you might want try the Help Wanted (not for support) section.

hello, the mod is installed on may forum v1.1.5 it works fine. But i have a question, why a warning not deleted automatically if it expired? I must delete every warning manually.

Rumbaar

Do you mean the text inserted into a message that the warning was issued on?  Well I'm sure it's meant to stay there as a visual indicator for the future of when and where a warning was issued.

Well, I've run into a bit of an error...I had it installed on my bridged SMF/Joomla install on the board.  I ran into an error with the version of the JSMF component installed not liking the spell check function of the board.  When I did research on Joomlahacks, I found that I needed to tweak my bridge from 2.0.2.1 to 2.0.2.1a.
That took care of my spell check.  However in uninstalling and reinstalling the bridge, all of the board mod packages were broken/not working.  Most were fixed by a simple uninstall/reinstall in the board's admin panel (I took the hard way and decided to uninstall all packages first and attempt to reinstall the Visual Warning package first as it's one of the more important ones).
However, Visual Warning issues a few errors when attempting to reinstall.

The install/upload of the package goes fine.

Then when I attempt to apply the mod...  the Load.php file issues an error (languages show an error too but that's normal, I only have English [not UTF-8] installed).
If I attempt to continue the install even with the error; I get the following error:Duplicate column name 'warning'
File: /home/modworx0/public_html/slingindirt/forum/Packages/temp/VisualWarningPdb.php
Line: 85

Line 85 of the aforementioned file states:
      ADD warning INT", __FILE__, __LINE__);

Just to clarify beforehand...  I've not backed the DB up in sometime (I know, I know...  ) and the board/site is pretty far along and I really don't want to go through the process or an uninstall/reinstall or having to redo a lot of the more recent things.  If there's a way I can perhaps clean this issue up without having to redo everything...  I'd love to as I love Visual Warnings, otherwise I might just have to roll without Visual Warnings installed.  *pouts*  LoL  It's unfortunate as it's a favorite mod of mine (in fact...  I'd love to see it integrated into SMF 1.1.6 as I think it's that important of an add-on for any board moderator/admin; and yeah I know there's intentions of a user management system in 2.0 but until 2.0 is fully released...  this would be a nice feature to plug into 1.1.6 and save us all the hassle of adding it in ourselves) but considering this is the second time we've reinstalled everything (first time was due to some pilot errors on install), I'd prefer not to have to go clean-sheet again.  LoL  Everything else installs and works perfectly it's just the Visual Warning (1.4.2) add-on that's issuing the errors for me.

Rumbaar

Well the warning feature is a default part of SMF 2.x, I doubt it will ever make it into the CORE features of the 1.1.x though.

Now that error is most likely due to the mod installing a second copy of code or db tables/fields on second install.  You need to manually remove the second duplicate nature of the install. So you uninstalled the mod before installing it again?

QuoteJust to clarify beforehand...  I've not backed the DB up in sometime (I know, I know...  )
Trying not to sound harsh, but that's really unacceptable.  You seem to know the nature of the modifications you are doing and the possibility of failure and still don't take the few minutes to perform a backup beforehand.

I do understand that, but for those that are on 1.1.x stable with no nearterm plans to switch to 2.0 due to constraints not working with us (i.e. no mature SMF 2.0 bridge for Joomla 1.0.x/1.5.x and with an already established Joomla 1.0.x site, functioning install of SOBI2 for downloads, etc.) the one feature, above all else that could be added to 1.1.x if there is indeed any new development (i.e. even a security patch which is sure to come...  they were added to the 1.0x versions post 1.1.x as well) to come to the old version before it's laid to pasture...  Visual Warnings themselves might be worth the last bit of integration before parking the 1.x.x codebase permanently.  I'm not saying that it'd even require a complete rewrite, more just an agreement with the developer of the mod to just roll it into the codebase by default if and when there is a 1.1.6.  When Visual Warning works proper, it is quite a well designed feature, one that SMF in 1.1.x sorely lacked and of which I'm glad to see coming to 2.0.  I just can't commit to an SMF 2.0 release when it's not considered a full release yet and without any bridge/integration options.

I would've considered going with SMF 2.0 and Joomla 1.5.6 with JFusion had well...  SMF 2.0 be released in a state other than beta, JFusion not be in an alpha state, etc.  Since having to commit to Joomla 1.0.x and the J-SMF bridge (the only real option) we fully plan to use this longterm until there's other time-tested and mature options.  My guess is Joomla 1.0.x won't get an SMF 2.0 bridge anymore than SMF 1.1.x will get Visual Warnings but either way, both are a nice dream and would likely help ease some of the transition for many people or at the very least, remove some headaches of having to rely on significant #'s of board mods to compensate for lack of necessary features in their existing installs while they wait for everything to come together for them in the future.

QuoteNow that error is most likely due to the mod installing a second copy of code or db tables/fields on second install.  You need to manually remove the second duplicate nature of the install. So you uninstalled the mod before installing it again?

Yes, I first uninstalled the mod and attempted to reapply.  When that didn't work, I then deleted the mod and attempted to reinstall.  I've since fixed the Load.php error as well by using a backup.

QuoteTrying not to sound harsh, but that's really unacceptable.  You seem to know the nature of the modifications you are doing and the possibility of failure and still don't take the few minutes to perform a backup beforehand.

Considering the good fortune I had, had since reinstalling and since on a prior run the mods worked without issue (and all have continued to with exception to the Visual Warning mod) I guess you can call it flying blind in the wake of ignorance from prior good fortune.  Regardless, I do know and understand the error in my ways in that regard (hence I prior noted the "I know, I know...") but once again...  I didn't come here to be ridiculed or chastised on errors that I fully understand in hindsight.  I just want to seek input on how to remedy the situation which basically involves knowing what database entries would need manually editing from the developer.  To err is to be human, as they say, and compared to many who wouldn't admit to their ignorance...  I fully admitted and accept mine.  Live and learn.

Had I known prior that trying to fix the spellcheck in the bridged SMF would cause this much grief I would've done without as everything was working swimmingly well prior.  With most decent browsers having the features built in, it is a far more frivolous feature (although still nice to have) and really...  the update in bridge/integration software (from 2.0.2.1 to 2.0.2.1a) only bought me that fix and nothing else significant in terms of advantages.

New features on SMF 1.1.x are more likely not possible, since this a stable version. So it's frozen.
If they wanted, SMF developpers could have added this mod on the core, since Grudge is a developper of SMF and was the original author of this mod. But I really don't think it would be done for 1.1.x.
No support by PM or Mail.

Yeah, I kinda figured that 1.1.5 was probably the end of line in terms of features and everything and more just a way to get it solid and out the door and then focus all energies on 2.0.  I admittedly love 2.0 and would love to have gone with it, just timing was a bit off for our needs.  I'll have to revisit it later on when everything comes together in terms of the bridge being solid, mature, and fully released and the board being fully released.

Anyhow...  Eleglin, do you know what DB calls Visual Warning makes so I can see what all I need to edit out/undo to try to see if I can re-add it again?

What makes it even 'worse' for you is that the licensing issue in past will mean Joomla in 1.1.x and 2.x will not be supported.  But this is a topic for another thread and no longer related to Visual Warning Mod.

I don't believe that there'll be a huge problem there as I think JFusion will take up the slack left by both Joomlahacks SMF integration (which works pretty well even though development stopped in July) and the unfortunate lack of the official (Orstio's) bridge.  It works pretty well already for being a *green* bridge that's still in the Alpha stages.  In fact, I think it's an ingenious piece of software with how it's conceived right now considering it works with so many apps. already.  I already tested it with J! 1.5.6 and SMF 1.1.5 and it works just as easily as the Joomlahacks bridge once you figure it out, and it's only likely to get better with time.  It's also non-invasive like the official bridge that's unavailable, and I have to admit I prefer that it allows you to use separate DB's for each app vs. how the Joomlahacks version works.

Anyhow to get back on-track, it'd be nice to know what all DB calls Visual Warning makes.  If I have that I might be able to reverse the issues that I'm under now and see if I can get it reinstalled.  If not, I might just have to do without.  Everything else is working quite well.

Rumbaar

In the installation package, there should be a php file that installs various tables/fields.  You might be able to look in there for what you are after.  Then look in your DB for any duplication.

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to look at that in a bit after I back up.  ;)

Hey I am a bit confused, should there be an entry in the users profile which would say "warn this user ?", I cant actually find a way over how to warn the user... pretty silly but i cant find it...

It's not in their profile F.L.A.M.E.R., it's actually on each individual post.  If you are an admin (or anyone that is given warn privileges), when you're viewing the board and their responses...  over on the right where it says "Quote, Modify, Remove, etc." on each individual post it should have a "Warn" right after "Remove" on each post.  Clicking on that button/link on any poster will bring up the options to warn that particular user, adjust the warning level, etc.  See attached image as an example...

Keep in mind, you might have to manually edit your theme to make the Warn appear if you're not using the Default theme or a variation of it.  Some of the other themes that come with SMF don't generally get the Warn option installed in them either so if you use one of the older themes that are included, you will likely have to manually edit those themes as well.

By the way guys...  I did manage to get it installed again.  I'm not entirely sure how I fixed it but it is now appearing.  Thanks for all of your help.

Adish - (F.L.A.M.E.R)

oh thanks.. i was wondering about it... it also would be better if there was warn in the profile aswell... would also be better if there is a warning bar which would show how much they are warned... i think that is there..but not sure...just confirming.. is it?
