I have edited a theme - colours mostly but seem to be having a problem with users on 1024 wide pixel displays.
There is a huge gap down past the Avatar height before the post content starts, screenshot below.
I'm guessing some form of table command? But not too sure. I had this once before and fixed it but must have stumbled over the fix as for the life of me I can't stumble over the fix again.
Anyone able to help me?

Also just above (in theat screenie) where you see post topic Re:Avatars you see default colour Grey/Blue horizontal line. I cannot find anywhere to change that colour. Any help on that would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

I think this is a problem with the default theme. Ive had a couple people report the same issue aswell... yet it shows up fine for me.

I got them to test the SMF Default theme and the problem is the same on there also.

kith

I have asked the guy who brought it to my attention to test Default and various screen res's to see what he says.

kazmack

That's what I did and the person said the issue was the same on both.

So far one person did it and got that... the other person had it work fine at home, but their work computer it had the same issue as the other person. Both unable to take screencaps.

<?netwire>

I'm having the same issue as you on the Outline theme. Below is a screen shot of what the OP is talking about.

It's not the same thing as that.

I also had that theme in my forum but uninstalled it as its a beta 3.1 theme. The issue is beta 4 is different. The title bar with the modify ect buttons is in the right place... its between the title and post content that theres a gap.

kazmack

hey. My avvys max size is fixed to 100 x 100 px only so I dont think it can be that.

Now you mention it though a person said about 'your post seems fine' and then a min later told me the gap was showing... So it was coming and going on certain peoples posts.

kith

Have a look at their avvy size just in case for some reason that persons post that is affecting it for some reason is increasing the size of the left hand column that holds avvy and other info.
I wondered if it was my custom gfx for member status, as instead of stars I have like paid member, trusted friend etc...
You could find which members post affects that person, try disabling that persons avvy as a test then get that person to try it.

If you change your res to 1024 or 800x600 do you see same fault?
I have two pc's here side by side, one in 1650 and one in 1024, both same browser. One shows the errors (1024) and the other not which led me to something to do with pixel sizes. Of course maybe this is all coincidence and my fault is different to yours?

Did you try the fix posted to paste into css sheet? Didn't work for me but you never know for you?

kazmack

I havn't tried the css nope.

I have tried changing res but nope it didn't show me it still.

The person said it did it for some people... but that it changed which people. First said no staff were effected then said oh now its doing it to them too. Very confusing.

kith

Okay bang goes my theory it fixed it for my machine locally but the guy having trouble on my forum says it's not fixed it for him on both explorer and firefox in 1280 res.
I give up :)

Latest from the guy having issues on my board

"well this will F**K ya
it is intermittent as reading back every post You and I just made were gappy .. but your last one wasn't, it is IE 6"

kazmack

Yeah that sounds like same thing as the person on mine. It is really strange isn't it. Doesn't make any sence.
