Package Manager issue

export!

SMF 1.1.6

Installed through Godaddy hosting - no chmod access to server.

I was able to upgrade to newest version (from 1.1.5)  through the admin screens.

Packages/Browse Packages shows New Packages and a dynamic Package of the Moment so I think I'm connecting to the package server there.

Download Packages/Browse Third-party Mod Site gives;
An Error Has Occurred!
Unable to connect to the server. Please try using this URL instead.

URL is accessible no problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

try using the package in the download section. The server "might be" down that time.

or you can always try replacing packages.php,PackageGet.php and packages.template.php

export!

Thank you.   I figured out how you can simply download the zip to your computer and upload it to the server - appears to work OK.

Where would I get the files you mentioned and why would replacing them help?  Do you think they may be corrupt?

i think its trying to connect to mods.simplemachines.org instead of custom.simplemachines.org/mods

have you tried deleting the package server and adding it as http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods?

Yes I read about that earlier and tried it.  I should have mentioned that I covered that avenue in my original post.

Thanks!

as far as I know, our server is up.  is it possible the host is blocking the script from connecting?

Well I suppose but it seems unlikely.  It's a godaddy hosted site.  Not a big deal as I realize I can upload the packages from my computer.

What I really need to get working now is an image resizer but that is an entirely different problem.  I thank everyone for the help and consider this issue closed.

Thanks!
