How I can merge old messages?
In old mod there was a button doublepost (:

Nao 尚

Then... Use the older mod? ;)
I posted it a couple of pages before, I think. (Or was it only my SMF2 version?)
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

You can use this MOD Notify Modification Last Post. Is more specific to that role and more configurable as you like.

Works when the last post is edit, with or without fusion.

Why would I want that? I don't want topics to be bumped when someone edits their post, I want topics to be bumped when people DOUBLE POST.

As with so many other people here, I want a mod that merges a double post and bumps it. That mod is of no use to me and unsurprisingly, you made a mistake but refusing to implement the feature request we have asked into this mod.

Earlier I used this mod, for old versions SMF

Yes, that's the one. Just use it if you're happy with it :)
If you need a SMF2 version, I posted it earlier, as I said.

Nao, does the attached work for SMF 1.1.7?

This mod has so much potential but M-DVD knowingly leaves open a massive flaw which prevents many of us using his mod.

Why would I want that? I don't want topics to be bumped when someone edits their post, I want topics to be bumped when people DOUBLE POST.

Why you do not wanted to know when the people edit his last post?

For example. When a member makes a new post on the topic; you would be angry because you just want to receive mail notifications when the person has made a double post and not when has made a normal reply?

We should make double post to get attention?

And if this is not the MOD you want, simply, do not use it. I Will make you a refund. You can use a MOD that yes has this feature, or can claim to someone other than myself.

And as information. The other MOD have not this feature as function, but as a "collateral effects".

..., you made a mistake but refusing to implement the feature request we have asked into this mod.

Sorry, I have not made a mistake.

In Analysis of System and Engineering, is very important identify the problem correctly.

The problem is to have a notice when something new has been published in an topic (for example, a double post merge), but also if has been modify the last reply. I made a real solution to the real problem.

Contrary to what you say, it would be wrong if I had implemented such a solution only in this MOD.

It's very simple... people who want to download your mod are not doing so because you refuse to include an OPTIONAL feature so that double posts will bump the topic. You ask "Why would anyone want that?" ...because in most forums, double posts are a sign of genuine new information rather than spamming... that is why!

Nao appropriately included the feature in his mod, are you saying that was wrong? Clearly it isn't if people are defecting from your new mod to something that isn't even being developed anymore.

I'm sorry about my angry tone towards you but I find it frustrating that your mod has so much potential but you are jeopardising its future by not listening to your users.

¡¡¡Fine, you have given in point, you has given the nail on the head!

Edit the Last post ALSO is a sign of New Information... ALWAYS.
NEVER is Spamming, ALWAYS is New Information

You see as I analyzed the problem correctly from the beginning?  O:)

I said that was a collateral effect. Wasn't a feature intentionally added.

No problem.

And I listen to users, a lot.

jossanaijr, AlenNS, netoya 1 &2, DistantJ, you, etc.

And you can see in my other mods, I responds to requests (provided they are reasonable, so far has been the case).

Well technically I'm supposed to be the author, now... lol

Hey what's with the whole fight anyway? It's not worth it... Why is it that doubleposts mods always create fights where they shouldn't?

What on earth are you on about?

In most forums a double post is a sign of genuine new information rather than spamming. Therefore, you have NOT analyzed the problem correctly because in your mod a merged post does not bump the topic.

I only want double posts that are merged to bump topics, I do not want topics to be bumped when people intentionally edit their posts. So your new mod is not appropriate for me.

It's not a fight. I have never seen it like this.

Interestingly, there must be something in common.

I have a question.

Are you aware that when you make "Double Post" and "Merge the Post," the MOD AMDP causes the user Unintentionally Edit their Own Posts?.  ::)

Yes, this is why I was careful with my wording in my last post, notice I used the word "intentionally".

netoya

Is it possible add premission to make merged posts to the group of users who do not have permission to edit their own posts?

I just wanted to be sure.

His excuse was, you wanting a notice of "New Information".

In "Merge Post" or "Edit Last Post" there is new information, and "My New Mod" notify you in both cases. Your excuse, no longer serves.

The true is, you don't want a notice of new information, you only want to be notified when there are "Post Merge" (is your decision).

As I said before, I do real solutions to real problems. Your problem is something particular whim and I cannot release MODs to such things.

Sorry, if you want it, you can do a request, developing you, or pay someone. If my MOD don't serve you, then you can uninstalled, simple.

Yes. I can try.

I doubt that you do before a couple of weeks, and I will be somewhat busy.

M-DVD, ок i ll wait.
Updated my version to 1.2, i allways install and uninstall mods manualy.
Posts don't mergerd if not checked Ignore Double Post Permission.
In version 1.0 and 1.1 I used this one to ignore memberships premission
QuoteSearch:

if (allowedTo('doublePost') || isset($_REQUEST['msg']))

Replace:

if (isset($_REQUEST['msg']))
And now I want to use this function to manage premissions for groupes on my forum, but it dont work :(

mark7144

M-DVD, I'm not asking you release a mod for my suggestion, I'm asking you to simply include an extra option in your Merge Post mod. The functionality was in Nao's mod so why not include it in yours as clearly it is not just a request from an individual, it is something many users want.
