Redirect Merged Topics

When you merge topics normal 1 or more topics are not available any more, this mod set a redirection link. Each time when the old topic is called it will be redirected to the new topic as long it exists. At Least i will write it here, this mod can only find new merged topics and will not work on merged topics before this install was done!

It comes with a small Adminstrations Tool so that a Admin can delete not needed Redirections.

Current Languages are:
Englisch (utf8), Türkçe (utf8) (Turkish) and Deutsch (utf8) (German).

Edit: May be The redirect utility can be made for the moved topics too and there can be option to enable/disable it from the admin panel.

Hmmm yes it is possible, i think about it... hmmm if i think correct smf will leave the topic id if you move a topic and create a new one the old board if a redirection note is made.

Oh your right i forgot a option to disable it. I will insert it at the weekend.

When I download this mod, I was hoping that the merged topic would leave behind a link on the forum similar to when you move a topic to a different board .That is really what I'm looking for so my forum members don't wonder why a topic has vanished. Have I missed something or is this not possible with your mod?

No :X, the mod was created that old google search links or any other SE links are correct redirected.
I store now the data to make this possible... hmmm could be a good a feature for the mod... i will think about to insert something like that if i've time. It will insert a phantom topic which can not be entered but will be automatic redirect to the new topic .


Thank g4lly i will insert it asap . (I think i can make a none utf8 version for French, too.)

I think it's a good idea to do exactly what the forum does with moved topics but it redirects them to the merged topic.
