Hello, I've installad mods like download system and project manager and i'm using SMF 2.0 Beta 4. There is no update package from admin panel.

Will my modifications be protected after update?

Should I update forum with small package or large package or should i wait to package appearing on SMF admin panel.

Thanks.

aldo

Packages won't be because you will have to overwrite the files. That and some of your modifications might not work until the mod owner updates the modification to support SMF 2.0 RC1 as Beta 4 to RC1 includes some major fixes, but who knows, maybe you'll be lucky.

Will SMF Team relase the admin panel update package?

No, in development stages packages for these kind of update won't be made due to the major amount of edits involved from one version to the next. The only reason the 1.1.x and 1.0.x line get packages is because its not a lot of edits involved.

firegenius, I hope that answers all the questions you had here. These are major releases since there have been code changes. Some mods may still work. You can install this on a test environment to test them out first before upgrading your live forum. You will not see any updates on the panel for a patch as mentioned earlier since it will require you to manually upload and overwrite all your SMF files with the new version.
