Hi,

Was wondering if anyone has experience converting SMF posts to Mambo/Joomla content? (i.e. from smf_messages to jos_content)

Kindred

juts out of curiosity, WHY would you want to do that?

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

I had a board exclusively used for news postings.. and would now like them as joomla content.

ah...

the problem that I see is that joomla/mambo scatter information about content over 3 different tables. :(

So, the quick answer is, "No, I do not believe anyone has written any code to do that"
more detail...   doing so would be moderately complicated, especially if you want to try to maintain the original author.

I guess there's always the most tried and trusted method - good ol "copy and paste". It's only around 50 first posts that I want to port over, so probably not too far of a reach to do it manually. The replies to these posts however I also want to go into a specific commenting plugin - more manual work there for sure :)

anyhow, thanks for the reply...

Marking this as solved, as it seems there is no easy solution.

I wonder though, how possible it is to replace the Mambo news with something that links to an SMF board
