Thanks for this mod!!

Does anyone know the code to add this into a profile (2.0RC1)?

Something underneath "show posts" etc in that side bar like:

Show My Articles (links to all the articles user has posted - the /index.php?action=articles;sa=myarticles;u=1 page)

and then into posts as well- in the display.template- above the avatar picture-- a "My Articles" link??

thanks so much for any help!!!

Maybe it's too early in the morning for me, but I think I'm having an issue with the articles mod playing well with certain skins.  (Or, to be more snippy, only the skins *I* want to use...)  At least, I suspect that's the issue.  I have it installed on two different forums.  They're both SMF 1.1.8, they both have other mods installed, but neither of them displays anything that allows a person to actually access or submit an article.

One site has SMF Articles 1.0.1.7 and is using "Ancient and Rusted" by m3talc0re.  The other site (not even 24 hours old) has the latest 1.0.2 version of SMF Articles and is using NaturaLesa Theme By FriedeKind.

Unfortunately, after installing it, there are NO options ANYWHERE to access articles!  From any profile, there is no tab, no options in the profile page, nothing anywhere.  In the admin panel, there are configuration options, but that's it.

You don't happen to have a "Make everything work perfectly" checkmark I could activate, do you?

on SMF 1.1.x, you will have to manually add articles into the topnav menu for any themes other than the default.

This is true for ALL mods on 1.1.x

I... wha...  ?

:(

Okay, I have no idea how to do that.  Is there a tutorial, preferably written for someone who only has very limited experience with php?  "Dammit, Jim, I'm an admin, not a programmer!"

ETA: Okay, in some fairness, I can follow instructions very well and know how to close tags, so I'm not a complete newbie, but I'm pretty close.

What the "tiny_mce" folder in mod package?
I was planning to add that an option at one point. But so far decided to stick with SMF's editor.

personally, I like keeping things slim and sticking with the stuff already built into SMF.   Why re=invent the wheel when we can have vbgamer spend his time on more additions. :)

Now, see, this would have been good to know when I started using it.  I'm wondering how much of my hair-pulling frustration could've been handled by just knowing this one little thing.  See?  Not a programmer.

VBgamer, is it possible so that if a guest leaves a comment on an article he can give a screenname that shows up on his comment?

vbgamer45

What's the point then to let guests comment on articles if they can't fill in their name? Maybe you can add it in a new update?

Angelotus

Something else. In the view article template, how can I get the article ID?
I need it for social bookmark.

I tried this, but no luck:
<a href="http://nujij.nl/jij.lynkx?t=', $context['article']['title'], '&u=' , $scripturl , '?action=articles;sa=view;article=' , $context['article_id'] , '" target="_blank"><img src="http://nujij.nl/nu-jij-icon-16x16.gif" border="0" /></a>

Is it possible to change the name of the Tab? If so how?

Also can the the articles be displayed under the category on the main article index page?

Matt

I will take a look later when i get a chance what should i be looking for to change the tab name?

Also how could i link the Article titles and a brief summary with a link on to the front page of PortaMX?

Many Thanks

Matt

Kindred

look at the EZportla articles block...   you should be able to modify the code to work with other portals.

Thank you Kindred.

Is it possible for someone to help with finding the part of themes/default/languages/modifications.english.php
That i would need to edit to change the name of the Tab.

Many Thanks

Matt
