Not sure what you're referring to here?

Sorry, i made a mistake, it should be "Advanced Profile Fields".
I am using SMF 2.0.1, curve themes.

We use custom profile fields here and buddylists without a problem so that certainly isn't the issue.

Any other mods?
Which theme are you using? (If it is not the default, does the problem still occur if you switch to the default?)

I use the default theme. I am really frustrated not to be able to make the buddy list to show.

Any errors in your error log?
Please attach profile.template.php
What happens if you visit index.php?action=profile;area=lists

Thank you. It shows my buddies.
BUT how strange that it is a page called "edit buddies" and one has to go profile -> profile info ->modify profile ->Buddies/Ignore List (edit buddies) to get it, isn't it a little bit too complicated?

If you press the arrows to switch to the classic menus (as I do), you get there in one. I'm not sure how things are arranged with the dropdowns

On the right.

There is an admin setting related to this, but I think it should be enabled by default

Thanks. I got it. I hope SMF will improve its profile page, because it is more and more important for communication between members.

I think a profile page should include at least:

a Mini Stats, Friends (avatar), Gallery, Group (this is very important social networking function, where shows your group or offer a link to join available groups), Recent visitor to this page (their avatars and total number of visits) and last Visitors comments.

thank you!

2.0 is currently feature locked.

Most of what you've asked for is never going to make it as it is overkill for many sites. There was a mod around that added most of the features though. A gallery is effectively a full script in itself. There are many galleries that bridge to SMF and some have additional mods to display pictures from the user in their profile

Could anyone please advise me about such MODs (to display pics from the user in their profile). Thank you.
