Hi All,
I think the Additional Options link under the message window
is not so good.
Many newbies don´t find it or are scared to klick this.

So the options to be notified of replies and other options should
be displayed as default under the message window.
That would be much better.

Regards, Harti.

There's an option to change this, if you so believe, in your theme settings.

hartiberlin,
I have wrote about it in having been already removed topics.

Nevertheless the hidden "Additional Options" box
is conjuncted with the fact that

SMF 1.0.3 still unsubscribes a user from the topic

if he just has a setting
"Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic"

switched off by a default.

The developers of SMF pretend to not differ the difference

between "Notified"

and "Not Notified".

Sounds like your template files are out of date.

is this an admin setting or an usersetting?
I can't find this in my userprofile.

if this would be an user specific setting, it would be more flexible for the user

Ben_S

It's a simple one click thing for something thats hardly ever used. Making it a user option is just overcomplicating the profile IMHO.

Admin > Edit current themes settings.

Many thanks, I have found it now and this is now much better and easier.
Should be like this in the standard installation.
Thanks.

Sounds like your template files are out of date.

By the way..

ATTENTION!!!

I had (and have still) subscription to this topic in SMF 1.1 beta 1+.

{
I see

Concerning SMF 1.0.3, there is the regular clear error
in notification algorithm.

Ben_S,
do you mean that both old and updated template files
have the same version release number ?

Do not the first having been updated administrators
know when the old errors are being corrected ?

In which file of the downloading set
the changes applied
and release numbers
are listed ?

Where is the release number placed in the template files ?

hartiberlin

Hmm,
what is the "regular clear error" ?

By the way, I saw a strange "bug" maybe in SMF 1.03 ?

When I logon as the global administrator some
boards were set in the permissions only for the global administrator
to be not able to use Attchments...

Are there the permission templates wrong in SMF 1.03 ?`

Thanks.

Regards, Stefan.

Stefan,

let be more correct in version naming.

Do you have your own forum on SMF 1.0 POINT 3 , i.e. SMF 1.0.3 ?

I would like to show you the "regular clear error" there..

and something else to somebody else.

hartiberlin

Yes, I have my own forum SMF version 1.03 installed at

www.overunity.com

Please show it to me.
Thanks.

Regards. Stefan.

Stefan,
I have had a look and tested.

In any case I have not discovered
the mentioned "notify of replies" error there.. in 1.0.3.

But was that your forum installed or updated or upgraded ?
And when ?

It seems the error was corrected in the current version 1.0.3

but I still don't understand
where is the signal for SMF 1.0.3 administrators
that the time of the next update of the same 1.0.3 version
has already come.

I wonder why fixing of the errors
which Simple Machines Team consider to be serious
are not dated by them.

Ben_S

The error you are talking about, as I have already said, is almost certainly caused by old template files.

Just ignore gri.  He's trying to be a problem and stealing other people's topics; this will surely lead to a temporary ban if he keeps it up.

Ben_S,
Are template files located in the language packages ?

What are the names of template files ?

Take in account that I am a User, not administrator.

Suppose that template files are almost certainly
have nothing to do with language package files.

Why then several independent
(russianized) SMF 1.0.3 forums
demonstrate the same old error ?

To which announcement can I give a link
to the administrators of the ~old~ SMF 1.0.3 forums
in order to convince them to update

from 1.0.3 to 1.0.3 ?

As a rule they are sure in having already installed the last version
and are waiting for SMF 1.1.

gri

The administrators of SMF 1.0.3 version forum
have no enough motives to update
(although I see an error at several forums).

Really they will not update every day
only assuming new changes.

So I have asked one of the administrators of SMF 1.0.2 version forum
to upgrade to 1.0.3.
He did.

After that the error of subscribing/unsubscribing to notification
in quick reply mode
is confirmed once more.

Would anybody of the developers like to check the error
on the live 1.0.3 forum, upgraded from 1.0.2 two weeks ago ?

I will also appreciate invitations to other 1.0.2 forums
before their upgrading to 1.0.3
to check the fact of either reserving or fixing the error.

Additionally, I can confirm that the setting for
Additional options box in 1.0.3 (upgraded)

influence the appearance/masking of the error in full reply mode.
