Is Pretty URLs something recently added and this has been happening since then?  If not, do you remember adding any other mod that coincides with the timing of this error?
My apologies, but I am taking a break from accepting PM requests for support.  If I am not currently assisting you, please do not ask as long as this notice is posted.  Thank you.

Yes and no. I noticed this error after experimenting with a couple different mods for SEO. I got errors with PrettyURLs and redirect page. Redirect page gave me the most trouble and may have glitched something somewhere but I can't honestly blame one mod and that is why I posted it on the main support page.

Ah.....    when you say "experimenting".....  well, first of all, I get nervous.   *grin*   But, when you say "experimenting" was this done via the package manager and uninstalled, later, or did you do this manually?   Can you tell me which mods we're talking about?

I used pakage manager on simple SEF installed then uninstalled with no errors. I installed redirect page and didn't notice any errors. I installed pretty urls with no apparent errors until I got this nasty little redirect error and I think that is where a ton of my error log is coming from because the site was down for a whole day until I finshed manually uninstalling both of these mods because I was getting uninstall errors. Then I had to manually install one or two of the pretty url strings and use package manager for the rest of it.

Somewhere in this murky swamp lives the monster.   ;)  There may be some remnant of simpleSEF, etc.

If you're agreeable to providing a test admin account to your forum (that you can delete later) and also ftp log in details, I'd like to look at all the involved files.   Before you do, though, have a look at this link:

EDIT:   Do this via PM, though, not on the boards.    :)

Well I will certainly consider it. Please understand that I want to trust you especially since you are the first to really help me out so much already. I am hoping that there is a simpler solution but let me back some stuff up and change some other PWs around and then I will set up a second admin account. In the mean time, hopefully another solution may arise.

No worries; that's why I provided the link.  One must be careful when providing sensitive information.  I would advise you to pull up the parsing for all three mods, making sure that all edits for the two you don't want are gone and making sure that Pretty URLs is correct on all files.

Good luck with it, tRu3_sKiTz0 and do check back later, in the event that someone else has weighed in on this thread with a solution.  ;)

I have Microsoft Messenger.

*thinking*   If I've ever had AIM, it was back in the days of yore.  *grin*   This particular laptop isn't set up for Skype.

If you have Messenger, let me know and I'll PM you my info.

I will just go ahead and set one up now because I planned on setting up every possible network for my forum anyway. Gimme about ten minutes and I will get ahold of ya on this.

Okay I uninstalled and checked and I am still getting the error so it isnt pretty urls at all.

gbsothere

Dang!  I was hopeful...   :-\

So.....  with or without, huh?

Would you try going to Admin==> Forum Maintenance and clear your cache and see?  In fact, running forum maintenance couldn't hurt.  Try "Find and Repair any errors", as well.

Okay did all that and still getting error. :-(

gbsothere

Now, we're ready to call the server.   *sigh*

If Pretty URLs was still in play, I'd still think it was the culprit, but you've uninstalled it.

I suppose all your tables are okay in your database, since you are able to post; you're just seeing the error (and since you just ran forum maintenance).

Perhaps check your server error logs and have one of the server techs weigh in on it?

Other than that, all you savvy support helpers looking in;  any suggestions would be helpful.   ;)

No not so far. I don't get it. I hope a dev sees this.

gbsothere

Just a thought, while we're waiting, and you may not wish to try this...  but, if you don't have a lot of mods, it might be the simplest way to troubleshoot this.  If I were in your position, I'd just reupload all fresh RC3 files from the zip (via ftp) with the exception of Settings.php and Settings_bak.php.  Those two should remained untouched and you may even want to save them from your server onto your desktop just to make sure they don't get overwritten (so that you can reupload them, if they do).  But if there's any rogue code in there, fresh files, then emptying your forum's cache ought to fix this.
