ReHaB Gaming

I've just gone to access our forum only to be met with this message -

Strict Standards: require() [function.require]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. I'm the only admin and I've not made any changes and/or installed any mods for months. It's been working without any problems for a year now until this message suddenly appeared.

Any ideas and/or suggestions?!?

Edit - http://www.nango-gamers.co.uk/forum/

Matthew K.

Try clearing all of the cached files in ./cache MAKING sure, to only delete the cached files, not index.php or .htaccess (if it applies) to you

Edit: When I say clearing - I mean delete them.

ReHaB Gaming

Perfect!

Thanks for your prompt help!

Edit - Purely out of curiosity what would cause that error?

Matthew K.

As the error states, it looks like it's something wrong with modSettings, in other words, something that was inputted in to a field, possibly? It depends.

Glad you got it working, and not a problem. :)

Why does this keep happening now when it's been fine for the previous 12 months or more?

Each time it occurs I clear the cache folder and the forum is fine again until it randomly happens the next time.

Now I've lost everything - http://www.nango-gamers.co.uk/forum/

Edit - Had to download SMF again and upload index.php to get it back.

Something weird is going on somewhere.

My home page brings up the above errors.

And i have a bunch of "data_73b48d......" files starting from "data_73b48d048470364c7240932ed7c99471-SMF-parse-96-62ff54bad228e2b1408617636c587eee.php" to "data_73b48d048470364c7240932ed7c99471-SMF-theme_settings-1.php" in /cache.

What could be the problem?

If it is of any use for further investigation, i shall provide you with all the(27 of them all) "data_73b48d......" files in my /cache.

I just deleted data_73b48d048470364c7240932ed7c99471-SMF-modSettings.php. And it seems working. That is fine.

But why does it happen this way? What exactly is the issue?

Arantor

Because the file cache is buggy in 2.0.
