About Curve variations

Good day,
A few weeks ago I've created a theme based upon Curve with a few template changes. Only, I've received a pm yesterday where I was told that Curve variations won't be accepted anymore. But, this theme is a Curve variation too and it was approved too, so I don't know anymore if they will be accepted or not.

I really cant understand why Curve variations will no longer be accepted? There are many SMF users that want to stick with the basics of the Curve theme but desire simple changes such as colors, full banners/logos and other custom changes. There is really no logic here.
And why the personal message instead of an announcement or even a public poll?

It is now more easy to have a Curve variation theme with that tool.

And the personal message was because it was Dr. Deejay's theme,   theres no need to make a public announcement for telling the
Cust team has rejected Dr. Deejay's theme

that theme you linked to is not a straight curve variation like your theme was, themes are mostly css changes from the default theme are not being accepted anymore..

I understand the PM to the designer for theme rejection but if Curve variations will no longer be accepted, in my opinion it would be a good idea to announce it to the public. This way nobody will be wasting their time on creating variations thus resulting in less PM's for personal design rejections.

I'm sorry, I didn't want to look angry. I just wanted to know why my theme was rejected because it looked to much as curve while there are still Curve variations accepted. (Please don't feel offended Nolt, it was just the first theme I saw). But I agree with ARG, it would be good to post an announcement somewhere.

we have already answered your question above, if you want a more specific answer i would suggest you take this up with ichbin as he is in charge of customization team. and since this is very specific i am going to lock this so it does not get out of hand.

Hmm... I thought I had announced that. So my apologies everyone, I dropped the ball on that. Yes, for the future we want to not allow curve variants since the theme editor was released which makes this much more possible and accessible.  I'll try to announce this in the themes board ASAP as I've been really swamped the last few days with work...
