Brand new install, members not showing up in approval

I have a brand new SMF 2.0 forum, having used 1.1 elsewhere for years.  This 2.0 forum has no mods, was installed 2 days ago and member registration is set to Admin Approval. One person as tried to join, and she says the forum tells her she has to wait to be approved. When I log in I can see "There is one member awaiting approval" but when I try to approve members the table is blank. The member does show up on the member list and it's not immediately obvious that they aren't an approved member. This happens in both Core and Curve. Beyond setting up forums and changing permissions etc. the forum is otherwise unmodified from the downloaded 2.0.

I found this dating back from 2008 but can an issue from 2008 still be present?

This is not a widely-reported problem.  That posting from 2008 is about a beta version of SMF2.

This must be something else.

Please confirm: when you go to
Admin center > Members > Members >  View All Members > Awaiting Activation

to get to ?action=admin;area=viewmembers;sa=browse;type=activate

You see 0 members awaiting activation, although when you go to the member's profile
?action=profile;area=account;u=<whatever> you can see that the account is awaiting activation?

Utterly bizarre, it's working. I did just have to use repair_settings as one of the people I share the hosting with just changed the mysql passwords, and now it's showing the awaiting approval member correctly.

Thank you for your reply! (unblinkable wasn't me btw ;))

Sorry.  Missed the fact that a second user jumped in.

I'm glad you fixed it. Repair_settings.  I'll have to remember that one :)
