It's not, for me. Both are lower-case.

Both are lowercase for me, too (FF 12). I see that the user name is under class "username", but I don't see that defined anywhere. Could you check why you are missing it? Perhaps something local to your system or browser is defining it? It might be doing a text-transform to make it lowercase or capitalized.
