Cant work this one out.

Membergroup has been created to allow request to a selective board on the forum by requesting access.

When any member including post count groups apply for membership to the board on the forum and they are then approved, their Primary Membergroup changes to that assigned to allow access to 1 board.

Probably something silly but cant find it lol

TIA

yup... that's what happens with request-able member groups... AFAIK, only the admins can assign secondary membergroups.

although, come to think of it, you might try changing the "visibility" in the membergroup settings to "invisible"

Anyone with the rights to manage membergroups can assign secondary groups.

I'm not sure why group requesting is doing primary groups though, AFAIK it was only ever supposed to handle secondary groups.

hmmm...  maybe I am mistaken/reversed...  in which case, I suspect/blame a mod

The design on paper looks correct.

Unique Groups that members request to join alongside and regardless of their post count or other forum status they can go to their profile and see the list of Groups they want to join - then make an application that is sent to the moderation queue. All this sounds great. Once approved however, i can not see the programming logic in the core system that reverts that member who applied to ONLY the single group they applied for and makes that their PRIMARY membergroup negating their old access - it doesn't even put their old access as secondary thereby rendering their access limited if the new Group accesses only 1 new board on the forum.

Surely this cannot be right guys?

Off course the new Group application can be acknowledged and applied manually as a secondary access but then why have the functionality built in to the core system if it is not working. I was wondering if it is a admin configuration problem but after making untold variations to the setup there appears no remedy.
