Forbidden From My Own Admin Section?

I'm trying to make a change to the name of a board and when I click "modify" I get a blank white page that says:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /forums/admin/ on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Help?

Not sure you are on the same page here. Disabling a mod has nothing to do with CSS.

What I mean is that I don't want to disable the mod. It would hurt search results because all the pages indexed would have their URL changed. If you don't agree with me on this, let's just preemptively agree to disagree.

What I was asking was, can I change the font colors of the board names using CSS and, if so, how/where? Thanks very much.

You are asking something completely different from your original question. Changing board name font color can be done via css, but that has absolutely nothing to do with changing a boards name as you said in your first post-

The bold was added for emphasis. Changing the board name is done in admin area, and obviously there is an issue or you would not get the above error when attempting to change the name. It still sounds like a pretty urls issue.

I agree, there's still an issue. But removing Pretty URLs isn't an option for me right now.

my only suggestion is that you ask in the support thread for whichever prettyurls mod that you chose to use.

Something that you should note: pretty urls are probably the biggest waste of server resources for the lowest return. They have little to no benefit on SEO, despite what some people want to claim. Yes, your SE returns might take a hit if you disable them and return to the normal URLs, but you could write htaccess 301-rules to limit that hit. Additionally, if your forum is actively crawled, then the hit would be short-lived as the site got re-indexed.
