Sorry, I realize I'm doing a superbump here, but is this not compatible with 2.02, because I tried to install it, and it's not working...

Works for me.

Why doesn't it work?

Hello, I wanted to install this mod onto my website. However, I recieved an error during the test installation.

The test stated that load.php failed to replace

'link' => '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=profile;u=' . $profile['id_member'] . '" title="' . $txt['profile_of'] . ' ' . $profile['real_name'] . '">' . $profile['real_name'] . '</a>',

with

'link' => $coloredData['colored_link'],
'colorless_link' => '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=profile;u=' . $profile['id_member'] . '" title="' . $txt['profile_of'] . ' ' . $profile['real_name'] . '">' . $profile['real_name'] . '</a>',

I'm not exactly that well affiliated with PHP. I can do guess-work, but I rather not rip my forum in half by trying through this with guesses.

I have attached load.php to this post, as it may help. Any assistance would be wonderful.

Hi!. I'm sorry for my english, I speak spanish.

I have a problem. An User is in primary group created by me (called "Fansub"), with a image and a color for the nick (orange). Now this user is moderator, but in the forums that he moderates the color of his nick is orange, and I want it to be the color configurated in the moderators group (green).
The image changes correctly in these forums. The problem is with the color.

I leave a screenshots.

These are the configurations of the groups:

This is out of the forums that he moderates:

And this is in the forums that he moderates:

any updates for 2.0.2?

The mod already works on 2.0.2

Have a look at the mod emulate link in my signature.

mfaith

Does this mod not work with 2.0.3?  I'd love to be able to add it to my site, but it only shows up to 2.0 on the mod site.

I saw your post. But that Mod also doesn't show support for 2.0.3.  And it doesn't seem to be as featureful.  Also considering the download numbers, not as well-tested.  Ah well, I'll just wait for an update. :)

LOL, it's compatible with 2.0.3, has ALL the same features and actually colors it in more places.  Only reason its not as downloaded is because it just came out several months ago ... and the name "Simple Colorizer" is misleading and not many knows right off the bat what it actually does.

I mean, you wanna roll your eyes when I'm trying to show you something better.  You'd think you'd listen to someone that's been here for awhile and knows what they're talkin about ;)

mfaith

haha. No no, I wasn't rolling my eyes at you.  More for the situation. No offense meant.  I do appreciate your help for sure.  This is all just very new to me. :)  I'll check it out.  Thanks

hcfwesker

Ok, well here's a decent piece of advice.  Not all MOD authors update their MOD on the MOd page, but most should still be compatible with new versions.  Open this link ...

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3067

To the right where the zip files are, click the drop down and select 2.0.3 , and click the 'Parse' box.  If you get instructions, it means it's compatible, otherwise you'll get this message "Sorry, but this modification does not appear to be compatible with the selected version."

I promise you, I've recommended Simple Colorizer to many, and all find it more convenient.

Plus, this link is useful for packages that aren't updated, but can still be used.  http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_can_install_a_mod_that_doesn't_work_in_my_SMF_version

Arantor

I'd also note that 'featureful' is an interesting and often misleading characterisation. SimpleColorizer nails the colour everywhere, something that Member Color Link actually doesn't necessarily do.

Also note that failing the test, you can also try the advice in How can I install a mod that doesn't work in my SMF version?

hcfwesker

you beat me by like 40 seconds on my edit lol.

Thanks guys. That's very helpful.   :)  I'm literally like a week into this, so these kinds of tips are great.

How to make this compatible with the My Mood mod (latest moods on boardindex)? :)

jsx

Hi, would be useful a update this modification to SMF 2.0.7 because now this modification doesn't work with SMF 2.0.7 and it is necessary to do the emulation to 2.0, which isn't good! Is this modification will be update?
