I have searched and cannot find a setting to change or a topic on this forum regarding this issue of mine.

I have selected the option to receive email notification of new registrations as the Admin, but my Global Moderators are receiving these emails as well. They are not Admins and shouldn't be receiving these emails. Is there some setting to change this or is this supposed ot be happening?

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

it is based on the permissions....

I am completely missing this permission then. Under Registration>Settings, I have a check mark in the box for "Notify administrators when a new member joins". Under the permissions for Global Moderator (actually the permissions for all user groups), I do not see any setting that has anything to do with receiving emails when a  new member joins, let alone having any group act as "Administrator".

I do understand that permissions control every interaction in an SMF forum. However, with all of my experience with SMF (admin/own two installs, installed, configured, and modded 15 others, am running multiple personal, non-published mods, and provide support for my friends, family, church, and clients for their installs) I cannot say that I have ever seen a permission regarding this. In fact, I never would have known about it if I hadn't promoted a member of mine to Global Moderator. I have always restricted moderation to board only and have never had a GM for security reasons. However, this person I trust completely and they deserved to have extra privileged.

So, that leaves me with my question. If this is based on a permission and I cannot find the permission anywhere, what is my next step? I want to know every time someone joins, but he doesn't.

Please advise.

it's not a specific permission...   it's either the "admin forum" permission or the "manage membergroups" permission, I think....

Sorry, but same issue as OP. Have looked at  the "admin forum" permission and the "manage membergroups" permission but can't see an option / figure out how to set notif receipt to admin only.

Kindred

That is because there is no option.

Is a permission not an option?

I'm new to SMF, that was my first post and, as I said, I can't figure out how to set notif receipt to admin only. Help me out here, please.

You're not reading.

There is no option.
There is no permission.
The system automatically sends system notifications to any user who has the "admin forum" permission - That permission handles a whole boatload of things

QuoteThis permission includes all important member moderation functions:

    access to registration management
access to the view/delete members screen
extensive profile info, including track IP/user and (hidden) online status
    activate accounts
get approval notifications and approve accounts
    immune to ignore PM
    several small things

moderate forum members permission allows the moderators to get this email.

Thanks for your help, Illori, and for the links  :)
