Membergroup Color Legend - MCL

This was originally made by Oldiesmann and I turned it into a mod with the ability to be enabled/disabled.

What this does is it shows a color legend in the board index of the membergroups currently online like this:
[Lead Support Specialist] [Charter Member] [Lead Mod Developer]

Also this is disabled y default so you have to go in to Admin > features and options > Enable Membergroup Color Legend in board index to enable it.

only tested on 1.1 Beta3 - RC1

If you want a more up to date version take a look at this mod by JohnyB http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1077

Looks nice!

On my 1.0.5 it gives an error on the BoardIndex.template.php though. The "show_who" isn't available, so it misses... ;) And I guess other variables are different as well?

If someone would feel like porting the mod to 1.0.5, that would be really nice!

Thnx again Jay!

I'll see what I do about 1.0.5 the thing is that 1.1 will become final soon hopefully so the usage of 1.0.5 will drop.

ps thanks for the comments but I think Oldiesmann is the one that deserves the credit.

Do you think you can help and update the Member Colors package.  that was a favorite of mine. but it doesn't seem to be working properly with all the chances with 1.1

You can manually install the mod by taking a look at the membergroup_color_legend.xml file to apply the modifications to the files that failed.

What version of SMF are you using?  Its only available to beta 3 and rc1

also i specified the versions that this mod will install to.  to try to install it to another version remove <install for"..."> in packagee_info.xml

This is the latest download. I think it was good for 1.1 Beta but he hasn't had the time to upgrade. Its been quite sometime too. thanks for looking into it.

This MOD works with RC1 ;)
Oh... woops. I'm just one confusing little fella, aren't I?

Thanks for the reply :)

thetzfreak

Well... I just tried installing it, and once again like many other times with other installations and editing, I get the problem before installing it:

"Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF. "

error?
1.     Execute Modification     ./Themes/default/Display.template.php     Test failed

My theme, like said before, doesn't have this display.template.php file! I only have:

index.php, BoardIndex.template.php, index.template.php, Settings.template.php, and Themes.template.php

Note all of this is in my theme folder, not the default theme folder.

Help?

Thanks.

JayBachatero

Are you sure is this MOD?  THis mod doesn't touch that file.  The files it touches are ModSettings.php, BoardIndex.template.php, Help.english.php and ModSettings.english.php
