how to make the header smaller?

Mr. Pedram

Thanks for this theme, really nice! but there are two issue in theme.js:

QuoteUncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input

if (is_ie7down && 'attachEvent' in window){
window.attachEvent('onload', smf_addListItemHoverEvents);

you forgot to close bracket.

if (is_ie7down && 'attachEvent' in window){
window.attachEvent('onload', smf_addListItemHoverEvents);
}

and:

if ((is_ie && !is_ie4) || is_webkit || is_ff) {
addLoadEvent(smf_codeBoxFix);
}

QuoteUncaught ReferenceError: is_ie is not defined

and there are more missing bracket in this file..

Edit: and another thing, top menu not working for me, when you mouseover on menu it will not open sub menu, i added this code and it fixed:

.nav > li:hover ul {
    display: block;
}

hi, you have really nice theme.
can you prepare it for 2.0.11 also
i upload but menu which is on the top like admin panel etc is not working properliy :)

Joe_Stoner

Hi there, I love this theme, the only thing is that when I get new people to register they must scroll down to put in the information to register, due to the huge logo section. This may seem as something small, but it confuses some people and then they just won't sign up because of that. So I'm just wondering if there is a way to get rid of the huge logo section and only have the forums area?

I was just thinking the same thing and had a look at the template files. You can change the height of the  header in the template index css file. Search for "the framing graphics" or "header".

You will need to change  -480px to something smaller. I tried -100px. The user avatar might drop below the menu bar.

The problem with changing it is that sometimes other things move out of place so you might need to then start adjusting something else. It would be good to have the edits to just get rid of the header.
I'm still playing around with it.

/* the framing graphics */
#header
{
   background: url(../images/theme/main_block.png) #fefefe no-repeat 0 -480px;
   padding-left: 20px;
}
#header div.frame
{
   background: url(../images/theme/main_block.png) no-repeat 100% -480px;
   display: block;
   padding: 5px 20px 1em 0;
}

Something strange... when I edit the file from within SMF admin theme section and reduce the header size it changes the size in the preview panel, but when saved and the forum refreshed it does not change!  ???

Not sure why yet, maybe there is another place that needs changing.  :(

The Domain Shop

You can reduce the height by editing the css

.intro-section {
  background:none 0 0 repeat scroll #FFFFFF;
  height:100%;  << Reduce this
  text-align:center;
}

and for the profile area

.profile-area {
  position:relative;
  right:0;
  text-align:center;
  top:170px; << Reduce this
}

That worked - thanks very much!

I want to change the background image and the "SMF Tricks". How can I do it? I'm not good on HTML/PhP and I don't know how to do that. Please help. :)

For "background" I mean the Police Background.

Have a look in "current theme" options for the logo url section and place the link to the logo you want to use in there.

For the background image open your forum files on the server and look in the themes images folder (images/theme/header.jpg) for the current image. Rename your image to match and upload it overwriting the old image.

Press Ctrl +F5 on your keyboard should do it, if the image has the same name as the old one.

If you have done what i said it should be working.

Do as lurkalot said and if that does not work (which it should) please share your link here so we can take a look?
