I installed this mod, but it turns off the Info Center completely.

Is there a way to just turn off the Users Online section?

@ Steve: my bad, should have added the fact that both Statistics and Who is online are already switched off there.

But that didn't stop simpler statistics and a list Who is online from still showing.

In "Features and Options" there's a setting "Enable who's online list" - This option allows a forum administrator to turn on or off the ability for users to see who is browsing the forum and what they are doing.

In Theme settings, there are settings for "Show statistics on board index", "Show latest member on board index", "Show group key on board index" and "Show who is viewing the board index and post" that can be used to hide parts of those functions.

Thanks for the reaction. That option was off already, but good to be reminded that it's there.

Had complete forgotten about those. Tried switching them all off, still have the wrong stats showing.
For the moment I just keep the Info Centre disabled for all normal members through the Permissions.

The real solution would be to repair the fact that the wrong stats are showing, of course, but I still haven't found the solution to that one...

That is still a really odd issue.
