I have a board that I want to remove from SMF but I do not want to delete it. is there any way to archive a board? I did read something about recycling, not sure if i understood the process, but is that the only way?

Thanks for any help,

set the board to read only.

done. archived.

If you really don't even want anyone to read it...  set it to read only AND remove permissions fro all membergroups to access the board.

Admins will still be able to see it, but normal members won't

Why would you need to remove it from SMF?  If you remove the board, the board is gone and the contents are gone.

Thanks for the info and i will give that a try.

Well perhaps my choice of words was a little off. For the moment, I have a board that is going way off topic and I feel heading in a direction that is not a good fit for my forum. So basically, for now, I would like to suspend the board, try to look ahead to see where this might lead, perhaps find an alternate forum for those interested to leave here and continue there. But then again things may turn around and I could resurrect the board. More of a suspension or timeout type of thing than a removal.

again thanks for your help.
