Try reading the pretty URLs pate, or its thread for news?

How many RC versions do usually get released?

vbgamer45

Probably 2. In this case RC2 and Final most likely.

In that case I think that Smf 2.0 final will be released soon. That is very good news. I do not know why, but I was under the impression that there would have been a lot of RC releases.

Arantor

2.0 had 5, but 2.1 should definitely have fewer (though I suspect it might go to 3 RCs)

Doug Heffernan

Hopefully it will not take long now. I am about to start a new forum and I thought to go with Ipb, but now I am thinking it will be a waste of money as Smf 2.1. is much better imho and it will be worth the wait. (if it will not take long)

Keep an eye on the Milestones, https://github.com/SimpleMachines/SMF2.1/milestones

That should give you some idea on how it's progressing.

Thanks for the link, bookmarked.

Had a look at the milestones, and noticed that some of the open issues listed under RC3 and Final apparently have fixes already.
Are those issues likely to be moved to RC2? Seems like a good idea, if the fixes work. It'd knock the open issues for Final down from 50 to 40.

Congrats on the release!
Heartfelt!

That this step has been finally achieved has sparked my interest again!

Yay! I was beginning to wonder if the enthusiasm had wained. Many thanks to all those who've voluntarily given their time to this release. It is really appreciated.

The enthusiasm for the project never waned; just the enthusiasm for endlessly answering the question "When will it be ready?"  :)

Indeed.

Congratulations on this achievement, I am pleased to report I have a copy running for my new little forum and its working a treat.
I'm not always right but I'm never wrong!

Seems to be some nice progress on RC2. Since I checked the other day, open issues have dropped to 9. Two of those are waiting on pull requests, and another 3 apparently have fixes available. That leaves only 4 as "oh bugger what are we going to do with this?".

It's obviously time to stop congratulating the team on RC1, and start incessantly asking them when we can have RC2. :D
