Hi
When checking my link in Facebook Sharing Debugger.

I get:

  • ‎URL returned a bad HTTP response code.‎
  • og:title = 403 Forbidden
  • og:url = PHPSESSID
  • og:description = non
  • AND no image preview.
please; Tell me: what is this? And how can it be repaired?

Kindred

there are no OG tags defined on your page.
the page is NOT a 403 for a normal viewer...
if Facebook is getting a 403, then you have something wrong in your server configuration (probably htaccess)
However, does this happen for other pages on your site under facebook?   If not, then it may just have been a momentary server glitch

do you use pretty urls?
I had this issue with it
needed to turn mod security off

I tried searching but not finding an answer

found a slight error....

with pretty urls on, when anything (other than the forum index page) is shared to facebook, it spits out either a database error on the share or a 401/403....
with pretty urls off, it shares just fine on fb

anyway to fix this? I'd rather keep pretty urls

Mod security rules my thought

Details https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Mod_security_-_Having_problems_with_mod_security

as for the og tags I used Optimus mod

MohammedFK

  • do you use pretty urls?: NO
  • Optimus: Enabled
  • Mod security: Disabled (with htaccess)
BUT.. still same errors

shadav

not sure why with mod security off you're still having issues

looking at it on fb debugger, I even tried the index
what catches my eye is this part
Redirect Path
Input URL   https://forums.elsoar.com/index.php
og:url Meta Tag https://forums.elsoar.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=04du9ac510hfca95l6ev74cl1p&

for some reason somewhere you put a session id link into an url meta tag?

  • Optimus: Enabled

in your optimus settings
under basic settings
did you fill out the boxes there?
did you check mark the options that you want to use?

under metadata
did you check the box for: Open Graph meta tags for forum pages
did you put in a url to an image you wanted to use: Link to your default Open Graph image
It will be replaced by the attachment of the first message in topics (if exists).

MohammedFK

After installing the forum; I did not make any modifications;

shadav

at this point it seems that the optimus mod did not install correctly, you should uninstall and then reinstall it

as to why the fb debugger is still getting a 403, I'm not sure
did you by chance block any ips or user agents to your site?

[edit]
given that fb debugger can't read the og tags then yes the optimus mod isn't installed correctly, please uninstall and then reinstall and make sure that there are no errors

also the debugger is being redirected to a session id which is probably causing the 403 as session ids are specific per member and as a bot it is not a member (nor that member with that session id) so it's getting a 403 forbidden

MohammedFK

Quoteuninstall and then reinstall and make sure that there are no errors
done, but... no new!

Quotedebugger is being redirected to a session id

How I can fix it?

shadav

that I do not know, sorry, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will stop in :)

however according to the fb debugger back on april 19th it worked just fine
so what changes have you made since april 19th until today, because something between then and now messed it up.

Shambles

Try using the Batch Invalidator then do another scrape
