Introduction
Simple Referrals implements a referrals system to your forum.

So to clarify - is there a link in the user profile which sends an invite to a nominated email?

No, it's just a link to the signup page with the user's id, or can allow guests to search for names

I'll think about it, really not sure it fits the mod.
I have the feeling you're after some sort of invitations system instead

I haven't got a 2.1 TEST forum I can install this on at the moment to check its functionality so Ip;mnot really sure what the PURPOSE behind your mod is if it doesn't do invites.

For forum owners one of the big challenges (as you know) is getting members on board.
It would be great to have a mod where people could send an invite to their friends, and ideally a means of tracking how many legit people they sign up to the forum.  (I suppose it might need some form of anti-spam protection I'm not sure)

The idea being to get the word out and get people to sign up to the forum.
And it needs to be something that anyone can easily use.

Is this the sort of thing you would consider expanding this mod to do or should I put it in the mod requests area?

can't find the mod I currently use for 2.0.18 but from the pics of this mod it's basically the same thing
in the user's profile they will find
Referral Link: with a specific link with their user id in it
they copy this link then send it to whomever they want or post it wherever they want for people to register on the forum
when someone clicks on that link and register, it puts who referred them (as it uses their member id in the link) and/or when a member registers they can put the user's name in a field as referred by
in the user profile and on the display.template.php it will show
Referrals: and the number of how many people registered either using their referral link or putting their user name in when registering.
It's not an invite system per say it just keeps track of who and how many people a specific user referred to the forum (that is if the person registering used their link or put their name in the box at registration)

a top referrer page might be nice to entice users to use it more

Added option to send alerts regarding an user using referral link.
Added option to enable top referrals in the forum stats.
Fixed referral field appearing when id is invalid and the guest can't search for other members.

* I won't add/set defaults for the alert Maybe I will in the future

I will not port it back, there's a referrals mod available for SMF 2.0.x and additionally some hooks aren't available

I can't seem to find the "top referrers" in the forum stats. I have the "Display top referrers in the forum stats" checked in admin...

Do you have referrals already? If no one has any I assume it's not going to show up if I remember correctly.
Otherwise let me know and I can look into it

Yeah I registered a test member and it shows up as "1" referral in my profile summary and on the post just don't see it anywhere on the stats page.

I can't reproduce it sadly
I tried with only 1 user having 1 and still shows up.
Did you get any other issues? You could try running the maintenance task the mod added, if anything it could help.

Bummers! I just now saw that in maintenance but clicked it and cleared cache too no good. No errors in admin either so I guess I will try it on a fresh install and figure out which mod might be interfering with it. I dunno lol!

I have it installed on several websites but just recently noticed it wasn't showing on the stats. They all have pretty much the same mods installed so I just gotta figure out which one it is.
