It works!

Thanks

Now my previous question, how am I going to sync up 10000 users into SMF?

Thanks

chanh

That was quick and a good solution for a way migration.   Thanks

Is there a way to sync the user like the way Simpleboard does it as user checking forum post it will make a determination whether the user is sync or not then it will sync at that time so the user account in both will always in sync.

I would like to keep my current user table intact in Mambo because I am using the current Mambo user tables to feed other part of my site.

Can SMF-bridge be setup to use Mambo user table to sync SMF user table and when a user register it create in Mambo rather than in SMF.  SMF will get the user info when the sync occur?

SMF is such a great package and more superior than anything I know but the user integration and sync is really a headache!

Thanks

Orstio

When new users register they will be entered into both the SMF and the Mambo tables.

I ran into a problem earlier today trying to create an account for someone here to login my site to do a test and I create an account in Mambo just like I normally would but then he was not able to login.

I can not create it in SMF either since it already in Mambo so I had to go into Mambo delete it out and then back in to SMF create it there.

What I would like to see if possible is to still create the user account in Mambo and have some kind of auto sync process take place when the user check their forum in SMF.

Is that possible?

Thanks

You can do it one of three ways.  The first way is the best:
1) Use the front end registration, just like any new user would.  That will add them in both at the same time.
2) Add them in SMF.  Then, when they log in to SMF, they will be added to Mambo.
3) Add them in Mambo and run the mos2smf file again.

In the next version of the bridge, you will have a back end administrator area where you can add users in.

Thanks for the info.

1. I will have to try it out to see how it works!
2. All of my member login to Mambo first and they might or might not login to SMF so the method 2 will not work for us.
3. It is rather laboring process!

When do you plan to release the next version that has the user adminstration backend and when you guy plan to make the final stable SMF 1.1 release?

Thanks

Kindred

as far as I know, there is no intention of adding an smf user manager to the mambo backend...

SMF has it's own complete admin section and this bridge is just that, a bridge... it does not make SMF a component of mambo/joomla...   it just adds a function so that SMF can be run under and synced with mambo/joomla.
