Hi,

I am trying to upgrade my forum from 2.0.19 to 2.1 RC4.
The upgrade stops at step 4, while executing  "Changing column names." (1 of 41 - of this script)".
I am getting the error message that the server is not responding. When I click "Click here to try again" then the error disappears, but nothing happens not even the time elapsed is updated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

What upgrade package did you use? The one downloaded from here or from github?

SvenH

I used the upgrade package from the website.

SMF 2.1 final is now 100% complete so maybe you should wait before doing the upgrade. It shouldn't be too long before an anoncement is made.

I promise you nothing.

OK, two issues have been added since yesterday. I should have assumed nothing.  :P

That's the way it goes, it's only really done when you see a release announcement :P

Merging issues isn't everything. Before a release, a lot of stuff will have to be tested in detail.

Isn't that literally the point of a release candidate though, to have something you're saying 'we think this might be ready for actual release, please help us test it'?

Once really everything is in, it will probably go into testing, and then, some time after that, release (aka public testing). ;)
