internal Zoom-like capabilites, or at least SMF-verified access?

Obviously I'm headed to the mod sections, but I figured someone has a story to tell.

Is there any way to incorporate a zoom (or other) type of video conferencing environment from within SMF, or at least use SMF credentials to vet the participants as they try to join?

Sorry if it sounds too broad a question; that's all I have at the moment.

I'm thinking i might have to suck it up and go with something like MS teams.

I think the closest you might get is some of the Discord integration.

It's definitely possible to do - I've done Zoom integration but not with SMF, it's just a lot of work to start up the session from inside SMF and make sure it's properly integrated.

Doing so from Teams is about as much work, and incidentally doing Discord for this would actually be harder since you need more than just webhook calling, you need something that can run persistently either in Node or Python or similar (so it stays connected to Discord) to broker the user integration properly.

I've never hosted with Teams before but if I manage the logins from my user database I might be able to put something together.  the intent is just to weed out any "randos" from just popping in.

I've only ever done Teams integrations using Azure Active Directory; anything else is bound to end in pain.
