I would like to change the text 'Location' in calendar can someone please aim me to the correct location. I looked in calendar.php and see a number of instances but not clever enough to work it out.

it's defined in the language files, not the templates - definitely not the source files.

Probably in index.english.php

$txt['location'] = 'Location';

It is, however, probably used in more locations than the calendar

To lazy to search. But he can create a new string just for that. Would be the safiest.

Well it's also a custom field so you could rename it to whatever you want from the admin panel  :P

Or maybe go to ?action=admin;area=languages;sa=editlang;lid=english;entries > General Strings.
And edit the text string from the admin panel instead of editing the file, it's the same as manually editing the file.

Many thanks guys, I have gone with @Kindreds first post and found it in index.english.php
I went with that as I had found it before seeing the other replies, if that does alter it in other places I will check out the rest.

Cheers.

Kindred

Diego,   It's not a custom field - when used for the calendar. :P

Oh you are right.
Wouldn't that cause trouble in cases like this? A custom field using a language string that is used somewhere else?
Just a thought. Though it seems this topic is resolved  :P

The custom profile field only uses the string during upgrade/installation, once it's in the database the string shouldn't be used any more.

Diego Andrés

I was thinking about this earlier so I tested it.

Ohhhhhhhh. My memory is faulty because I forget that I didn't look at that code much after 2018, and it was since rewritten. (It *used* to be the way I outlined.)

But you can change the custom field to not reference it.

Diego Andrés

Yes indeed.
In reality, I only thought of it being an annoyance if the admin happens to run multiple languages, would have to use a different string if they plan of changing it's value/name.
