Alerts weirdness

This is not a big thing, but in case it matters...

Sometimes, when I log into SMF (here), I see that I have Alerts but when I click on them, they have nothing at all to do with me, and lead me to topics I have never been on.  Yesterday, the alert mentioned that a user commented on a certain thread and I've never interacted with either the user or the thread. (In other words, it shows me someone else's activity; nothing to do with me.)

Of course, it's no big deal to just ignore it and move on.  But I thought I'd mention it.   :)

Check your watched topics and boards in your profile, most likely you are watching a topic or board - perhaps by accident - that you don't actually want to get notifications on.

I did just check, but I don't have any watched topics listed.  It's happening on our forum, as well, but it's sporadic.  It's an "out of the blue" random event and always leads to topics I've never viewed.  But, since it doesn't seem to be happening to anyone else, it most certainly must have something to do with my profile, I'm guessing.  I'm special.  :D

(It's really not a big thing, though.)

So if you go into your profile and look at your alerts, what are they all for?

Grammy

@Aleksi

Aha!  I got down into the basement and did find a topic!  I don't remember if that was the one I was led to yesterday, but I suspect it is.  I removed it.

All that to say "as you were".  O:)

Thanks so much.

I did just find one topic (I still don't remember ever being on it) and removed it.  So I guess I was wildly clicking away and accidentally subscribed?  I have "clicky" fingers.   :D
