For some reason when using the wysiwyg editor I have to switch to Code view in order to add an image attachment. This is confusing to most forum users.
And if I switch back to wysiwyg mode before posting the image attachment code in the message is deleted.
I'm using "SMF 2.0.19"

When did this started to happen? What was the latest change that you did to your forum? What mods do you have installed?

Sir Osis of Liver

The 2.0 wysiwyg editor is a hairball and not recommended. :P  It was rebuilt for 2.1.

I had previously disabled the wysiwyg editor but recently turned it on. Only to discover what I mentioned,

@RGMears - The 'readme' file for the Post and PM Inline Attachments mod contains the following information:
"The SMF default WYSIWYG editor will be disabled when this mod is installed because if it is enabled the '(Insert Attachment)' link will not work."
Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful ...

Sir Osis is correct, the editor prior to 2.1 had several issues.

And in answer to your question, it is highly recommended that everyone upgrade to 2.1.2 but you have to keep in mind that most, if not all, your themes and mods will not work.
DO NOT pm me for support!

Thanks GL700Wing. I have turned the WYSIWYG editor off.
Will keep an eye on updates for the Mods, etc, Steve.

As Steve posted, the usual recommendation is to upgrade to latest version.  There have been several discussions here regarding 2.1 features that could have been done differently (ACP, attachments).  My production forums, and most client forums, continue running 2.0.  Will be supported for a while yet, and I prefer it to 2.1.  There will be no significant changes in 2.1 to address any major deficiencies, just bug fixes, security patches, and minor tweaks.  If you like 2.1 and feel it will be beneficial to your members to upgrade, then give it a go.  It's not reversible, so in the worst case you'd have to reinstall your 2.0 backups and lose whatever content was added in 2.1.
