Is this even possible?

I have a friend who wants to a) convert her forum which is currently phpbb2 into smf and b) merge her existing database with hundreds of users and thousands of posts with my current smf database which has the same stats.

I have a dev site where I can test out any recommendations offered

pretty sure the first one (a) is possible. Not so sure about b)

First needs to be converted to SMF.
