Greets. I had a hyper-v system go down, and like an idiot I had only set restore points on my web vm. At this time, I have yet to get the data drive to mount for any type of recovery. I kick myself daily.
However - I did make backups of the mysql db.
Here is where I'm at currently trying to make some semblance of comparability:
MYSQL 8.0.17; IIS 1607 on server 2016, CGI extension added; SMF 2.0.15; PHP 7.4.33

I have been with SMF since 1.1, and I actually have a copy of the original IIS SMF folder content. I dl'd 1.1 and edited the settings, but I get an error 500/handle request. If I wipe the DB and recreate it, populate smf with 2.0.15, it installs and becomes accessible. I then restored the db (smf 2020.sql) and the board structure returns, and it says the boards are populated, but there are no posts to be found (my guess, the db changed)

So, frustrated, I am. I haven't even tried to get wordpress back. yuck.
I'm and old fart, retired and happy not to be in I.T. anymore, but my skills are getting outdated. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

A 1.1 database must be upgraded to run in 2.0.x.  If you import a 1.1 db into 2.0.15 install it won't work.

2.0.15 does not support php 8.0.  Support was added in 2.0.19.

Thanks. Pretty sure I did a DB upgrade, but it's been a long time since I needed to do anything to the server. Is there any way to tell if the DB is earlier than 2.0? The restore point was from 2020. Thank you for the assist.-B

Look for smfVersion in _settings table.
