When I try from my forum, to share an article in my Facebook group the image of the article I want is transferred together, but this does not happen.
While in the popup window it appears correctly, article with the image, in the Facebook group I send it to, it doesn't show the image, just a link to the article title!
Any advice? Am I doing something wrong?

First, what version of SMF are you using? and fb tends to take the first image it finds, although sometimes it takes the user's avatar, since the algorithm does not correctly detect it, at least the times it was shared. In others it simply takes some time if it is a not-so-used or new domain as it limits it for security (it takes it as possible spam) but when it sees it is trusted it visualizes it better at least that was my experience.

Whether I share it, or copy and paste the article, it's the same result.
Unfortunately, it takes the image wherever it wants, even if I put the homepage link.
I have this question because I am sending them to a group and not a page that is somehow, if I have seen correctly, connected to my forum.

Have you got an example link you're trying to share?

Any example url? For a while I was getting a 403 or similar error... It depends on the server it seems but being Facebook sometimes it takes time to be displayed well.

Like I said, I don't get a 403 error, it just doesn't get the photo, while it shows me correctly, the result is wrong, since it only has the link.
I have you in photos, two examples of two photos each, when he shows me the link with a photo and at the end he only posts the link. The first is a post test by cutting and pasting the link and the second is from sharing LightPortal.
The test link is https://www.triglianoi.gr/new/index.php?topic=6.0 with PHP 7.4

Photo 1 paste link (photo shown)
Photo 2 result (Does not contain it, only link)
Photo 3 share (photo is shown)
Photo 4 result (Does not contain it, only link)
