The new design is great.

Is the doc site not coming out until the final release of 1.1?

also some of the links (e.g. the faq still link to /sitetest/ which I assume is not intentional

Nice job guys... I have to admit, it looks pretty decent.

One issue... I'm getting a headache from scrolling the boards. It seems to blur the lines a bit on my PC using FF 1.5 (It only does it on the boards, not the rest of the site). I wonder if other people have this as well.

Yay! This is gr8 news!! Altho i liked the previous theme more! but this is truly amazing! :)

What do you mean with blur?

Simple Machines is proud to present its new website. After months of planning, sketching and painful slave labour under the constant cracking of a whip we're finally able to let all of you enjoy the rich, full flavor of XHTML and CSS. We're confident that you will find the new site to be a lot more usable than our old one.

A refined mod site
Besides a redesign the mod site has been completely recoded and several categories were added in order to help you find modifications more quickly then ever before. A big thanks goes out to Mike Mill from the mod team for sacrificing so much free time to make all these changes possible.

Getting in gear
A new addition the website is our very own Swag Shop. Show off your SMF pride by wearing the official gear. There's something for everyone so hop on by, order an item or two and support your favorite project. In order to present you with the lowest prices we've decided to hold runs so we can buy in bulk. Be sure to check out the FAQ.

The best is yet to come
Over the next few weeks you'll notice some great things happening here at simplemachines.org. So be sure to check back regularly so you won't miss a thing!

Old site was more functional, feature page had relevant links, I'm glad I saw the old site as my first impression.  :D

yeah im feeling it too. Earlier when scrolling everything seemed smooth and fine. Now its blurry and harmful to my eyes, this new theme.

More functional? How do you mean? We've made huge efforts to increase the usability of the site and make navigation a lot more consisten. What you're saying is the exact oposite of what we want to achieve...
Also, I checked both the features page and the old homepage and there were no links on the features page. And all the links on the old homepage are still present...

What do you mean by blurring?

There was a page with linkthroughs on key features. I like the old gray color scheme better as well for the record. This looks like an invision rip off forum now, not a unique product.

What do you mean by blurring?

I think they mean that while scrolling the content doesn't just scroll smoothly like it did before, it's kind of jumping up and down a bit, some parts seem to scrool faster than others. At least that's what I'm getting when scrolling in the forum.

A different kind of scroll issue:

Most of the webpages now have a horizontal scroll bar when viewed with IE.

Edit: should have said, 768 x1024 res.

It will actually come out before 1.1 is out. It should be out pretty soon.
