Bridge 3.19: Why is it doing this?

Hello,

I have my bridge installed on my site and I have some problems.

First of all, I have two mambo sites on the same server (they're running in different sub directories though of course and have different database table prefixes too)

Here's my problem:

1) Usually, I log in "Forever" on my site.  But, if I go back and visit it like a day or two later, it keeps me logged into SMF and logs me out of Mambo.  Also, sometimes it keeps me logged into Mambo and logs me out of SMF.  So, that's a major problem.  That means, if users assume they're logged out, they may truly be logged in another area of the site - so, for instance, if it shows they're logged out of SMF, they might still be logged into Mambo and someone could access their custom gallery, etc...

So, has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone know why it's doing this?

my sites are located here:

http://www.webquad.com/forza

http://www.webquad.com/sports (this one's work in progress)

Thanks again for your help!

Okay, I've done some reaseach on this:

In the config panel under the Mambo administration, you can choose a session lifetime, which is set to 900 seconds default (which I believe it 15 minutes.)

Now, the bridge login form also has a sesson lifetime selection, which I always put on "Forever."

Does that mean that SMF login lasts forever while the Mambo login lasts only 15 minutes?  Is there anyway to get both to last "forever" when logged in (unless the user forces the logout of course.)

Yet another update on this issue...

Okay, I logged into my forums using the login page supplied by SMF.  Now, it logged me into both mambo and SMF.  So, that's good.

HOWEVER,

When I set it to "logout after 1 minute of inactivity" it logged me out of ONLY SMF and kept me logged into Mambo.  This is NOT good at all...this means that the cookies are separate for mambo and SMF.

You can see the SMF login page that I'm using - maybe I'm not supposed to use this login page?  But, keep in mind, when it does login, it logs me into both SMF and Mambo, so the bridge obviously works when logging in.

Yes, this is true of 3.19.

Should I upgrade to the other type of bridge? (like 1.1.3 for instance?)

Thanks for your help. :)

Only if you are comfortable using SMF 1.1 RC2.

ComposerRyan

I've used a RC before...so I don't think there should be a problem.

I just hope it's really worth switching to and that I don't encounter this error again because it can be very frustrating to be honest. :(

Set up a test installation of Mambo and SMF, and install the 1.1.3 bridge there first, so you'll have the experience of it.

Okay, I installed the RC2 and the new bridge and I found out where the problem is (I think.)

Say you enter the wrong password upon logging in...well, you're automatically redirected to a login form that says "incorrect login."  If you use the form here to login:

http://www.webquad.com/sports/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,57/action,login2/

then it appears it may cause problems.  For instance, log in with username testy123 and password testy123 for 1 minute.

Access the screenshots page and click on "user panel."  You can access the screens page here:

http://www.webquad.com/sports/component/option,com_ponygallery/Itemid,54/

That shows that you're logged into mambo since you can access that feature.  Now, stay inactive for 1 mintue and it will log you out automatically.  Once you're logged out automatically after 1 minute of inactivity, go back to the screenshots page and the user panel is STILL accessible.  This shows that your STILL logged into the mambo section of the site when you're not supposed to.

Anyway to fix this?

Thanks,

I using the latest version 1.1.3 and having the same issue.

After some time (a day or so) even though the login modules says logged in, its only logged into SMF but not into Joomla.

ComposerRyan

Hmmm...this is a big issue then.  Is there any fix for it?

This login module is GREAT, but I really hope that this problem can be addressed soon.
