The Simple Machines Mod Team has been busy lately improving the mod site to make the site more convenient for users downloading mods and mod writers who submit mods to the site. Some changes were also made to better sync the mod site with the current theme site, with new features that were on the theme site but not on the mod site.

The changes that have been made are:

User Improvements

  • The number of mods for each category are now shown on the mod site index.
  • An error message is now shown when a user tries to download an unapproved mod.
  • The rating of a mod is now also shown on the mod's download page.
  • "Rate This Mod" link has been added underneath the "Link to Topic" link on each mod's support topic linking to a page to rate the mod.
  • Template changes to improve the look of the mod site and make it look more like the theme site.

Mod Writer Improvements

  • "Coding Guidelines" link added on mod site index that links to documentation on SMF's coding guidelines.
  • Once a mod is approved, a PM is sent to the mod author saying that there mod has been approved.
  • Notifications can be sent for a mod when it gets a new review.

Bug/Security Improvements
  • Spell check should now work properly.
  • Fixed a bug involving the body and htmlspecialchars function.
  • Small typo fixes
  • A check has been added to make the sure the "Report Mod Unsafe" field is not empty.

A slight glitch. The "Featured Mod" box goes outside the layout in Firefox 1.5.0.6. :P

Can you please provide a screenshot?

Umm I'll look into the Featured Mod error.  About the time it took it's because the server is acting up.  It should be back to normal soon.

Ok great.  Also for some of you the page might look a little discombobulated due to the cache.  To fix it just do a hard refresh.

Idea :  maybe it would be a good idea to provide a RSS feed for the latest say 10 mods that were submitted so users can view the brand new mods?

SMF 7 is where it gets good. That has time travel. You can go back and post before the guy who flamed you. :P

FireFox 2.0 default Theme
There isn't any good themes yet for 2.0.. Since 2.0 only recently went open beta and few mod developers have updated themes for 2.0

Make sure you aren't caching anything, like the the modsite.css file.

That might of been it, but I'll never know because I was just on a public computer (that's why I was using IE).

It looks fine to me on IE6. Delete your cache as suggested.
