I've done a fresh install, added a few mods in and so far had no problems or errors crop up, seems pretty stable to me ;)

starrbuck

I (finally) upgraded both of my sites to RC3 and everything went well.

Within 3 months ? That is a very very good news  :D

Hope it is true :P

Actually this is not "news", this is what is hoped by team members. But there is never "news" about release dates :)

Right, it's not news.  Based on the history of previous releases, I expected this one to be released towards the end of December and said so in these forums quite some time ago.  In fact I gave two probable dates, but I cannot remember what they were.  Larry :D

It seems like a tradition or something, from what I've seen, klumy always does that. ;)

As stated though, there isn't a release date. I (and I guess the rest of the team do as well) feel that it's better not to set one. That way people wont be disappointed if its not met. It'll just be a huge party when its released.

This may have never been asked before but with the understanding there is no real release date which is fine but saddening hehe... when do you "hope" it to be released...

wow, I remember New Year's RC2 release, when I was really getting stuck in with learning SMF code.
I would of wanted to phrase the question - if no bugs were found how long would the wait be before the team is confident enough to make it final? (feel free to ignore, i know you know we all want it to be tomorrow).

I have a site that uses quite a customized/edited SMF forum, but it's got in a mess so I want to sort of redo it from scratch but the database of members/posts/etc is quite important. If I set up a 1.1 forum and got it working, could I then seperatly use a convertor to change my 1.0.7 db to 1.1?
Or would I have to do something like upgrade my board and then copy my new 1.1 files to overwrite the upgrade ones?

Have the thems changed much (in terms of code) from 1.0.7/1.0.8?
I guess it is unlikely if I made a 1.1 RC3 theme that I would really have to change it for 1.1 final?
Ant's Life - My morpg that is integrated with SMF for good communications between players and staff.

All you need to do is run the upgrade package. You don't need to install 1.1 first.

Themes didn't change between 1.0.7 and 1.0.8, and there will probably be only minor changes between 1.1 RC3 and 1.1 final.

I cannot find anywhere to report bugs, or see if bugs have been reported.  So forgive me if this is in the wrong locations for it.

I am running RC3 and had two problems so far:

* Calendar

I click on a date to add an event.  I select Link event to post.
Then I select an area to link it to (Post in).

As soon as I change that, it submits the form to a bigger form to fill out.  This form has everything right, but the POST IN I selected is lost.

* Themes, Create new theme from default and it says it did it successfully.  But nothing actually happens (it gets entered as a theme) aside from the directoty being created.  Nothing is actually copied or anything.  I think there are a few files that are supposed to be moved over.

Anyway, keep up the good work - I love SMF and its been good to me!

This has been fixed for 1.1 final. I just posted the fix here: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=114277.msg756762#msg756762

I'm pretty stoked for the production (ie final) version, so that I can upgrade one of the sites we host.  That memcached support is really REALLY important to us.

Well just found out there is a security hole in RC3, check out my site:  http://www.pembrokewebgems.com/forum [nofollow]  >:(
