Favicon and meta tags in smf

Quick question: Where do I put the html for meta tags and favicon in smf? I'm guessing somewhere in index.template.php right? I know meta tags come before the favicon html.

You are correct, you will need to put them in the 'template_main_above()' function in the 'index.template.php' file, the html for the headers is very close to the beginning of that function.
