Message-Icon Selector in Topic-View color

SMF 2.0 RC4

I want to change the background color and border of the message icon in the topic view. I know it is in the js file but I can not decipher the javascript enough to know what to put.

I want to know how to change the color (hex codes, or w/e) or a background image of the color of the strip, etc


I would rather be shown what to do (find, replace, etc) then you just do it for me but either will work.

looks like it is a javascript function which replaces the formating directly in the Display.template.php
