Lets get this started...

Heres a picture of SMF and a Webcam/Voice Flash Chat fully integrated together seamlessly.
All users from h2k can chat to each other in there and see each other

Stream MP3 attached files using Javascript and FLASH.
The javascript sends the attachment url to the flash player var that will automagicly buffer the mp3 and stream as soon as u click it.

This is a refferal system i have setup, basicly users hand out a url like his:

And when someone new joins up via the link that perso that refferd them gets one point and are shown in the competition table..
This increases hits/members and most of all if users spread there link on other forums google will link you higher in there search engine becuase your site is linked on loads of other sites.

I have subscriptions.. People who pay a small fee get access to extra sections which will satisfy there needs...

When there subsction is active they see a Charter active menu...
When they havent bought subscription they see Charter is offline.

This is basicly filterd by having a seperate SMF user MemberGroup for paid users.

So basicly the block works by checking if they are a paid membergroup if so show them Charter Online if not show them Charter offline.

Attachment locations..

Seen as i run SMF on a windows server having a LARGE attachment folder causes SMF to have big big problems handling files in th attachments folder..

SMF checks the size of attachment folder when uploading a file, if the folder is massive it will cause your upload to take 2mins instead of 2 seconds, and cause th server high CPU load.

So what are the benefis from this..
I can have 4 HD's set them as dedicated attachment folders using paths to the mounted drive.

This means virtualy unlimited Space for uploads..

I also limit my folder to around 50gig each anything bigger causes slow performance.

This mod isnt available im afraid on smf.
But i have requested SMF to add attachment locations  in 2.0 as it is a ******ing good feature to have

How do i handle them...

Well i use Grudges Paid Subscription Mod...
Ive been using it since version 1 and have seen it go from great progress to a dieing project, but it works 70%.. Theres an issue with it automaticly setting the dates of the charter memberships to 1970, but i can easily manualy fix it.. This isue is a problem with the mod but grudge hasnt made any changes to it for  few month now.. Lets hope he works on it again soon as it sure is my favourite mod and you can see why.
